I recently stayed at Toravaig House Hotel, on my month long holiday around the UK. My fiancé and I opted to upgrade and my mother & brother shared the lead in room. Upon entering the property I thought it was pleasant but was very disappointed with our rooms. Our room was in fact smaller than my mother's room and was... More

When we drove up, we thought we had made a mistake, as the outside is not that impressive. But we entered and they have a nice eating and lounging area. Rooms were smaller but clean and had all we needed. The food was surprisingly good. There is not much to do around here and even the nearest town is sleepy... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The quality of the furnishings and standard of cleanliness is second to none. The tasting menu was delicious and the dining area was very relaxing. They have an extensive wine menu but as others have mentioned it is expensive. The cheapest bottle I saw was £26! The only slight downside was that the menu was... More

The hotel is small and it has an inviting dining room with Excellent food, a nice selection, well presented, and beautiful breakfasts. And, lovely rooms (small but nice) and well appointed. Excellent and thoughtful decor, very helpful staff. A great stay. The hotel is in a good location and is close to the ferry. It is however, very pricey.

Great hotel with excellent staff, particularly Justin who went above and beyond. Beautifully cooked breakfasts and good coffee. Restaurant is expensive as others have said but food excelled. The menu is largely fixed and on a couple of nights did not really suit us. Rooms good and nicely furnished. On last day somebody forgot to put in fresh towels to... More

We stayed 4 nights. It is a very comfortable hotel in the heart of country Skye. The staff are very friendly and helpful, Rosemary in particular went beyond the call of duty and took us to their sister hotel, Duisdale House for dinner one evening. My wife does not like tasting menus so after the first evening we ate elsewhere,... More

My partner and I had booked one night at this hotel and we're looking forward to spending part of our holiday there. We had booked a hillside view double room which was nice enough but the room was quite small and could really have done with being redecorated as skirting boards were scuffed and wall paper was looking rather tatty.... We stayed here for two nights and found this to be a great location from which to see Skye. You are very near the ferry port, but also only about 30 minutes drive to the Bridge. We ate here one night and the food is of very good quality, and they do work around any specific food requirements that you... More

There are a few 'specialist' gourmet hotels in this part of Skye, but this is perhaps the best. The hotel only has 9 bedrooms, so it's probably more of a boutique hotel. It does mean that the lounge is 'cosy' and if everyone wanted to use it at the same time, you'd need to draw lots for the chair use.... More

We recently spent two nights at the Toravaig and were thoroughly delighted with our stay. The room was clean and fresh and the food tasted the same. The owners really seem to have made an effort here and have gone the extra step which shows they care about their guests' experience. We would certainly recommend and plan to return.
