We found the hotel easy enough bearing in mind other travellers advice of using the second entrance. The building is stunning, the public areas (lots of rooms to sit and pass the time) are spacious and well kept. We were really disappointed when we saw our room though, we were under the impression that all rooms were in the main... More

very nice rooms, hotel a bit outdated on the outside, but surely more then OK on the inside ! diner was OK, but expectations were a wee bit higher. Quiet location, ideal for resting. The golfcourse seems a bit small (we did not play)

Stayed for two nights in the newer and less authentic part of the hotel. Lovely grounds and views out to over the bay. The food in the hotel is really good, with a changing menu each evening and a lovely wine selection. Staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Worth a visit if you're visiting the Isle of Skye.

Stayed here for two nights whilst mountain biking on Skye and couldn't have asked for more accommodating staff and hotel experience. The room was basic but comfortable and we were even allowed to keep our (expensive!) Bikes in the room with us once cleaned. The food in the hotel is a joy, amazing wine experience and a different menu set... More

We stayed 2 nights and had a great time. The staff were very helpfull, the service great. The bed was a little firm for out liking but overall a good location only 10 minutes drive to Portree. Pretty much in the middle geographically of the beautiful Isle of Skye. We only ate in the bar but that was good enough... More

A lovely old building in a beautiful setting. Very friendly staff. Rooms very clean, ours had a door out onto the rear lawns with views over the water and our own table and chairs. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast, but I would recommend booking just bed and breakfast as they don't combine the money paid by a couple so... More

I wanted to show my friend, holidaying from New Zealand, some of Scotland's most beautiful spots and being Scottish myself, I knew that we had to venture to the Isle of Skye. We wanted to stay somewhere peaceful and scenic but also close to local amenities so we chose Skeabost Country House for that reason, being only a 10 minute... More

Exactly how it is described; old country house hotel; and yes, while showing it's age a little, it is very atmospheric. The wee dram on arrival, which we could serve ourselves, was very welcoming, as were all the staff. Bar area was very cosy and comfortable and the food served there very enjoyable and, given there is a 'captive' audience... More

This was the second hotel we stayed at on our two week holiday in the Highlands, and it was the one we were most looking forward to as it was to be our first visit to the Isle of Skye. From the hotel travel guide that we always follow it was given a good review and showed one rosette for... More

This hotel is quite isolated, around 15 miles from Portree, and has no mobile phone coverage. You can get this by going out and down to Loch Snizort, but be aware. Traditional baronial country house hotel with excellent dining and a good wine list. Good snack bar open for coffee, lunch and proper teas. Golf course and fishing on site,... More
