My husband & I spent 2 nights with Craig & Lisa which wasn't long enough, we booked the 4 poster room, lovely clean and warm room really comfortable bed, great view from the window. The food was really tasty, we spent our evenings sat around a blazing fire drinking and chatting to Craig his staff and the one other guest... more

Two friends and I stayed just one night and wished we could have stayed longer. We arrived cold and soaking wet from cycling all day and the owners greeted us warmly and offered to open the bar and kitchen for whatever we needed. The house is grand and old-fashioned, sitting on the edge of the water and next door to... more

I've been visiting Skye for fifty years, but over the last three or four years, Skye has, for me, become synonymous with Sconser Lodge. This small hotel nestling by the shore of the Raasay Sound, adds superb service to a traditional Scottish, or should I say Skye, ambience. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners or the helpful staff;... more

Fantastic cooking, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff. We have just spent 4 days at the Sconser Lodge for our son's wedding. 16 people stayed for 2 days and 8 people stayed for the full 4 days. Everyone was full of praise for the hotel and we had no complaints whatsoever. Craig, Lisa and their staff made the wedding day... more

If you like corporate, impersonal accommodation Sconser Lodge is not for you. But if old-fashioned hospitality, slightly worn carpets, some creaky floor boards and beds, and lots of character appeal, then go. We stayed for 3 nights recentlly and had a happy, relaxing and comfortable stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the charming young couple who own and run... more

Worst place I have ever stayed. Lumpy bed. Shower too hot or too cold. I was served sour tomatoes in my food. Not wanting to cause a scene I asked for something to deaden the taste. So the wife brought out a jar of peanut butter, half used, from her daughters fridge and slopped it onto my plate. I ate... more

A guest comment is always useful but they need to be correct. The guest left after breakfast packed her bags and asked her tour leader to find her alternative accommodation. She did not return to her room as it was relet that day. So her belongings were never rain damaged. As regards the 2 other guests this is again incorrect....

As a mother of 5, I was delighted to be taking a trip with our two youngest children this August. Delighted because we were able to B & B it up the west coast of Scotland something we had never done due to the size of our family. We arrived at the Sconser Lodge after our initial booking (elsewhere) told... more

The Sconser Lodge Hotel has stunning views from the front and the food is very good indeed. We were given a warm welcome by the host. However, both of us were disappointed by our room which did not smell fresh and we both felt that the sheets were damp. On our second night I was wakened at 1.30 by thelights... more

Do not be deceived by external appearances; the building , especially from the roadside, is rather unattractive. Beginning with a very warm welcome from Craig ( owner , with wife Lisa, and chef), we were most impressed. A good-sized , well-decorated room , refurbished and stylish bathroom , efficient barman/ waiter . The food is easily of Good Food Guide... more

We stayed at Sconser for one night on a cycling trip. Our room (the four poster) was really nice, warm and comfy with the most spectacular views. We ate in the bar. I had langoustines which were wonderfully fresh and my partner had pork which came from Raasey-which is about as local as you can get. Both were delicious. Craig,... more
