Roskhill is in a very convenient place for touring the top of Skye and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is a small problem with sewage smells in the car parking area could be due to septic tank or aerobic sewage system but otherwise the house and room were very nice and clean. There is a lovely sitting room for... More

Thank you for your kind review. The problem with the aerobic tanks in the car park was resolved on 20th June. It seems likely that the previous service carried out by Scottish Water was not fully completed thereby causing the problem. It is good to know that virtually all of our guests do appreciate the "upgraded superior room ". Our... More

First thing to greet us was the smell of sewage in the car park. We arrived at six o'clock and were quickly ushered round the house by the owner who made us feel more like an inconvenience than a guest. Our room was cold in colour and uninviting. As we had booked a superior room upgrade we were immediately disappointed.... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. As this is the first bad review we have had in the seven years we have been running Roskhill House we do take your issues seriously. The sewage system here is a sophisticated treatment system which goes through a cycle each day. On rare occasions it does cause... More

we had a very good experience at Roskhill House. In summary: very nice room, excellent beds, very good breakfast and a relaxing lounge. The owners are very efficient and friendly people. Also an ideal location to visit the most attractive parts of Skye.

The room and bathroom were lovely, local knowledge was great and we knew we wouldn't go hungry. Breakfast was great as was the homemade cake with an afternoon cuppa. There was plenty of walking and exploring to be done locally along with great restaurants to visit. Lovely place.

Stayed for one night at Rosskhill House with my brother whilst on a gastro tour of Scotland on motorbikes. Very welcoming and spotlessly clean throughout. Very comfortable beds, perfect after a long day on the bikes. Lovely touches in the lounge with homemade cake and lots of tea and coffee and access to wifi throughout. You have to have the... More

Roskhill couldn’t be more adorable if it was Gir in his dog costume. I made that Invader Zim joke for the sake of my girlfriend. The next one’s just for me: Roskhill is one of those rare landscapes that Rockwell painted. It’s quaint. Quaint, look up synonyms and see what you get. Old-fashioned. Charming. Picturesque. Artful. Antique. Old world. They... More

This is an excellent B&B with facilities more akin to a five star hotel. The couple who run it are lovely and cater for your every need. The breakfast was outstanding - I'd return just for that. We went for the traditional cooked breakfast with a few modern twists like wild boar sausage. It was exceptional but there were plenty... More

Nicely presented cottage in countyside just outside of Dunvegan. Facility was well appointed and immaculately clean. Room and bed were comfortable. Shared sitting room with wifi was a bonus. Breakfasts were wonderfully prepared and plentiful. Hosts were cordial though predominantly transactional, made dinner reservations for us and gave good guidance for a hike when requested. We were very wll pleased... More

This is a first rate B&B. We had a larger room with a king-sized bed for 3 nights 14th - 16th September. Bedroom was spotlessly clean and simply but beautifully furnished with good quality oak bedroom furniture (which quite frankly I wanted to take home with me) and touches like toiletries, playing cards, torch, fridge for milk, tea, coffee and... Our three night stay was most comfortable with excellent breakfasts. We were asked to indicate our breakfast menus each evening for the following morning - the choice was excellent and the food was very well prepared. We also experienced rapid repair of a breakage in the shower, at some inconvenience to the owner but with no word of complaint. The... More
