Roskhill House is a renovated croft house. My only disappointment was that some of the charm of the original house has been lost in the renovation. We almost felt as if we were staying in a motel. Breakfast and afternoon tea were a real highlight, superb choice and ingredients. The host and hostess were surprisingly less familiar with the local... More

The previous review to yours is headed “Authentic Excellence”. The interior of croft houses never were “quaint”. Some understanding of the social and economic history of the Highlands and Islands might have been useful before writing the review. Roskhill House is a very very early “white house” type of working croft house and was built around 1890 after the Napier... More

Alan and Julia look after this beautifully renovated typical whitewashed Skye house with immaculate taste and eye for detail. Our room was downstairs, three windows, so light and airy. Immaculately clean, beautifully dressed with a small fridge with fresh milk and water, daily. The bathroom was big enough, local toiletries, fluffy white Towels and spotless. The breakfast menu is to... More

We stayed with Alan and Julia for three nights and it was a great base from which to explore Skye. Very good breakfasts, a nice room en suite, and Alan and Julia were very friendly. We also ordered packed lunches for our walking and this was very helpful along with a clever system of ordering breakfast the night before to... More

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Roskhill House. The room (one of the upstairs superior rooms) was very comfortable and well equipped with a large bathroom. We particularly liked having the fridge and fresh milk available in our room. The owners were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed. They had put a lot of effort into... More

We stayed at Roskhill House as a base for our visit to amazingly beautiful Isle of Skye. It's a lovely old house, beautifully restored and maintained and a great location from which to explore the island. Our room (#5) was bright, spacious and immaculate. Alan and Julia were wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were beyond delicious. Julia makes her own... More

When we arrived, at 7pm, which I know is a bit later than typical we were hurried around like it was an inconvenience. The room was tiny, you have to walk all the way into the bathroom and then shut the door. Two people can not walk around in the room at the same time. It was beautifully updated and... More

Thank you for your review. You arrived for a 1 night stay just after 7.00pm having stated on the booking form that you would arrive at approx. 5.00pm and had not telephoned to give a revised time. The room you booked is our smallest standard room at 11.7m² This and the fact it is a ground floor room is clearly... More

We can only add to the long list of great reviews for Roskhill House. We highly recommend staying here if visiting Skye. The great service starts even before arriving. Alan and Julia when confirming the booking will suggest local restaurants...and book for you! We recommend booking ahead for your first night! Rooms are tastefully appointed, breakfast is excellent and there... More

We have just returned from a two night stay at the roskhill guesthouse. Lovely spacious bedroom, clean and modern. We were made very welcome by the owner and the information which was emailed on booking was very helpful. Lovely breakfast with fresh local produce. We would also recommend the old school house for a meal and if you require a... More

We stayed 3 nights at Roskhill House which was a great base for exploring the Isle Of Skye. The bedroom was clean and light and the guest lounge was a really useful facility. The breakfasts were really tasty with fresh local produce and it was great to meet with other guests over breakfast to discuss excursions, places to eat etc.

We spent here only one night, before catching the ferry for Talbert the morning next. Due the time of our departure it wouldn't have been possible to have the breakfast included; surprisingly the owners have prepared a meal just for us, half an hour earlier :). Talking about the rest: free wifi, cozy and super-clean room with a useful little... More
