I stayed in the hostel as part of a group over Easter weekend and it could not have been better. Even before I arrived I had to phone with a couple of queries regarding the group booking and the staff were really helpful and flexible. I got a lovely warm welcome from Gordon when I arrived who even remembered me... More

I stayed in the hostel as part of a group over Easter Weekend. Instantly the staff were very welcoming and accommodating, and we were pleased to hear that our room had just been refurbished: new beds, curtains, carpet and freshly painted. The hostel had all the facilities we needed, and was ideally located in the centre of Portree, with a... More

Stayed in hostel with a group during very busy music festival. Staff were excellent throughout. Hugely accommodating and friendly. Our room had new bunks, new mattresses, new curtains and had been freshly painted. Kitchen area extensive for food preparation. Location is opposite bus links, banks, restaurants and bars. I'd recommend this to fellow hostellers. I'd recommend booking this in advance.... More

The staff did their very best to give everyone a warm welcome and attend to their needs and queries, even although it was very busy due to the music festival. It is beautifully painted with cheerful colours, is warm, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is large with beautiful views across the bay and is well equipped. The showers are good... More

Nice kitchen. Wifi only works in common area. Clean and friendly staff. Charges extra if you don't pay in cash. A little chilly. I had to steal the empty bunk above me's blanket. Easy to find given that it is bright yellow.

Great hostel, with an excellent staff. The hostel is under a bit of construction because it has come under new ownership, but other than that it was excellent. Really great atmosphere. However, I do recommend that ALL dorms have the ability to be locked. We stayed in an "open" dorm, and the door couldn't even be locked at night, which... More

It was a good decision that i chose to stay here mainly for its location. As an Asian, cold weather is a big challenge, when you need to leave in very early morning to catch bus, then you'll appreciate a 10 second walk to Portree Square. Kitchen fantastic, near to local shop for food stock. A little pricey for it... More

Nice hostel but basic yet expensive accommodation. the walls were very thin so we could hear the other guests pretty well. There were only few bathrooms but the beds were very comfortable. Very close to city centre.

This hostel is a good budget option in Portree but there is some draw backs. The location is great, and the kitchen area is nice. However, the rooms are quite small for 6 people and the bathroom were not very clean. I would recommend it if your on a thigh budget, but not the best hostel I've seen in Scotland.
