We stayed at the Rosedale for 2 nights on our tour of Scotland and really enjoyed it. The location of the hotel is perfect and we had a lovely comfortable room with a great view of the harbour. We sat at the window after dinner just watching the boats and the many people walking along the harbourside. The owners were... more

Stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to the Isle of Skye. The owner greeted us upon arrival, and while we were being checked in, a member of the staff brought our luggage from the car to our room. We had a nice room on the front of the hotel, and looked directly out to the harbor from... more

Stayed as a single traveller in a small room at the back in a warren of a building. Breakfasts memorable - especially the excellent porridge and Mallaig kippers. Room cluttered and bathroom basic but adequate. Value excellent and the welcome dram of whisky on arrival (which I normally loathe) hit the spot! more

We stayed at the Rosedale Hotel during a touring hotel of Scotland. The woman on reception was very nice and showed us to our room after offering us a Sherry and Whisky. We booked a 4 poster bed room, overlooking the harbour and we were not disappointed. The room was quite basic but very clean and comfortable and although I... more

The Rosedale's location is it's main advantage. We had a room directly overlooking the harbour and it was wonderfully relaxing to sit (or even lie in bed!) and watch the boats bobbing around in the harbour and the fishing boats coming & going. The initial impression, however, was not brilliant, with the extrerior looking a bit tatty and letters missing... more

My husband and I stayed at the Rosedale 25 years ago and were excited about finally getting back there this year. It is under new management, but the new owners are just as good as the last owners. Everyone we met was very friendly and the hotel is extremely well managed. We didn't meet the owners, which is a bit... more

We had a lovely two night stay here. We were met with a friendly greeting at Reception (The sherry helped!!) and shown to a beautiful room with a wonderful view over the harbour. It is a great location for walking and also for touring the island. Although in the centre of everything, noise was never a problem. All the public... more

I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and have enjoyed every visit. The location is superb, being on the harbour side looking out over Portree bay, and the food is wonderful. You can be assured of a comfortable and relaxing stay here, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Portree for those reasons alone. more

A very warm welcome awaits here. In todays world of big companies whose sole purpose is to make money, its lovely to stay in a family run hotel. Lovely rooms, very clean and fully equipped with everything you need. The food is outstanding, absolutely fantastic. Beautiful location overlooking the harbour. Well worth a visit, highly recommended. more

Spent one night at the Rosedale during the first week of opening for the season 2008. Lady at reception was friendly and helpful and we were shown to our room through a maze of corridors. Heating had been put on in our room prior to our arrival and the room was clean and tidy with great views over the harbour.... more
