Booked in advance for a party of 8 anglers. The lads had 'budget' accommodation @ £24+ in an annexe while I paid £45 for my own room in the main building. Alarm bells rang when the owner requested full payment on arrival. The annexe accommodation was sparse with metal bunk beds resembling a prison cell, gurgling sinks, shared showers &... More

Every guest pays on arrival and you booked into a hostel. Hostels have bunk beds. Hostels have shared facilities. You did not research your destination clearly. If you want only want to pay 19.50 per person and £5 for breakfast then you must expect basic facilities. Had you stayed in a hotel or B&B you would have each paid between... More

Cheap so can't complain too much. The sinks in room sound like they're backing up every time someone else runs water. The fridge for our use was DISGUSTING! The man who booked me in in the pub was quite rude as though it was a great inconvenience having customers. The menu is confusing for a vegetarian too, FYI Caesar salad... More

This is a backpackers hostel so didn't arrive expecting The Ritz, however the rooms are expensive and the en-suite we had smelt awful. We were kept awake until gone two due to drunken revellers deciding to have a party in the next room. On the plus side, the beds were clean and comfy but would never visit again.

We, a family of 6 with 4 kids aged 6-12, stayed here for 2 nights. The room was basic but comfortable. Unfortunately, on our first night, there was a live band playing till midnight and our room was directly above the bar AND there were industrial strength spotlights right outside our window, that went on at 10 and went off... The rooms are small, clean and the beds are comfy. There was only 2 toilets between 7 dorm rooms so there was always a little bit of a wait. The wifi did not work at all, with the staff explaining that only 15 people can be connected at any one time but even at 5am I still couldn't connect! Very... More

stayed there while on a tour: bunk beds are quite comfortable but the main problem with this place was the heating that was on and could be felt even in the bathrooms....overheated place when doors closed.....the place gets quite noisy at night but well, when touring it does not really matter after all!!!

Stayed here on a haggis tour..20 pound a night is way too much for this hostel but I figure you don't have much choice on Skye...rooms were clean and pretty big, sink in room...showers were ok...no breakfast, kitchen is tiny and no real shops on the island..pub is good if you like seafood everything else is average...it's got most things... Accommodation was hard to find in the Skye area so this backpacker hotel sufficed. It was clean but quite dated, noisy and poorly equipped. No breakfast supplied and really poor wifi but it is in a remote area. Friendly shopkeeper/hosts but the cost was too high for what we received.

We stayed two nights in a 'deluxe ensuite' room which we discovered was in fact next door to the main lodge and described as a 'b and b', although it was in fact bed minus the breakfast. We booked to stay here as it is a hostel and we would have kitchen facilities. When we checked in however we had... More

We actually stayed in the b&b next door because we had requested a private room. It was small but had everything you need including a tv, toiletries and tea and coffee. The bedding was beautiful, I might buy some. The only problem was the heat and the fact that the room next doors bathroom was just through the wall from... More
