It was a very convenient place location wise. It was as good as it could be for shared accommodation. The disappointment came with the food (save the fish chowder) and the complete lack of atmosphere. As we were told numerous times on our 9 day tour of Scotland that Saucy Mary's is the place to be in IoS. There was... More

Loved it! While I was a tad concerned about making a reservation at what appeared to be a bar/restaurant, the room we were given, Witchwood 1, was a few doors down from the restaurant in a separate building. The room was completely redone and had a fabulous bath tub and access to a back deck. The room was clean, quiet... More

upon arrival we were greeted by a terribly unfriendly man at reception. Accommodations were horrible, bathrooms were unclean, food tasted like rubber. If you have the option stay at a neighboring hostel this place is a nightmare

Compared to other hostels I stayed in on a recent tour this one would best be described as basic. The 5 pound deposit and 2 pound charge for a towel bordered on usury, as did the charges for breakfast. The room was, rustic to say the least, with beds hammered together by someone in grade school. The common kitchens were... More

Before my complaint, I should state the good: The place was very clean. Also, the Lithuanian girl in the pub was a pleasure to get to know. Very kind and friendly. As to the rest: The showers were luke warm to cold, but there were a lot of people there; perhaps I showered too late, both days. My main gripe... More

we had been to hotel on 18th may. The views from this hotel are stunning.very calm place. The rooms were very clean. Also the shared bathrooms were super clean. They also have a self catering kitchen.Food in the restaurant is super tasty. We had a baby with us and they also gave a small additional bed for the baby at... More

We stayed in Saucy Mary's 2 nights and had room #6 at the 2nd floor. Pub noise did not bother us but the wind on the flapping roof did. The room had 2 bunk beds (in awful colormix) and was only 16m2. No table or chair, only a wash sink dramatically hanging down. The shelfs in the cabinet were useless... More

Thank you for taking the time to respond. It is a pity you did not ask for a bigger room, or ask for any additional items from the kitchen which must have been used by other guests at the time you needed them. In a shared shower situation there is a chance that the previous users would have left the... More

Good pub with a great selection of local ales and whiskies and friendly staff. Atmosphere was good and people in there are friendly, although it was quite loud so not the place for a quiet drink/meal Food was sadly not up to much, it was cold, overpriced and not a lot of it!

Cute little hostel, warm, cozy and clean rooms. Steps away from Saucy Mary's bar, this hostel is a great choice for any type of traveller. We were in a semi private room (2 bunk beds). The rest rooms were separate from the room but we had a sink in room for teeth brushing, water and face washing. The staff was... More

We were on highlands experience tour and stayed at Saucy Mary's Lodge for the night. We were amused by the name of the lodge, which sound kinky. Unfortunately, we did not had any "saucy" experience. lol The lodge owner, Bob was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was great, authentic Scottish breakfast. As Bob used to live in Asia, we talked... More
