We were looking for a hotel in Skye that would give us a base for 2/3 days to explore the Island as well as the mainland.Kyleakin provided that-located just directly over the Skye bridge.10 miles to Eilean Donan castle on the mainland and 33 miles from Portree the main island town. The Kings Arms cost us seventy pounds per night... more

We stayed three day's in this hotel. The girl at the reception was very well instructed what to say, she was friendly but it came not from her heart. The room was clean but not very large. The TV was a problem, bad interference, what could not be fixed. The bathroom was good with a very nice shower-head. The food... more

I wouldn't dream of reviewing a hotel in the Hebrides the same way I'd review one in a city or suburbia, but this could have been better. Not only was there no showerhead, the hot and cold water came out of different taps! How do I clean my hair? Room was rather small for three people. The dinner was fine... more

We stayed at the Kings Arms Hotel for two nights, Aug. 27 & 28, 2006. We were part of a very small tour (5 people), but several large bus tours stayed there as well. The reception area was cozy with a gas fireplace. Our room, #15, was on the ground floor with a view of propane tanks and a parking... more

We stayed at the Kings Arms for one night. The room was Ok for this type of hotel, although it's a long time since I have seen a hotel bathroom with no form of shower whatsoever, not even a spray head on the taps. There was also a large gash on the inside of the bathroom door. (looked like someone... more

Now you have to remember, your way up in the highlands, so when you book this hotel they are all the same. No showers,Russian staff, no telephone in the room, small rooms, isolation, limited entertainment,4 channel television and so on. Basically this is the highlands, you have Aviemore with its revamped hotels which is like a holiday camp but there is virtually no... more

We stayed at the Kings Arms in October, 24 of us went over in a coach ur ages ranged from early 20's to 50's. We had a fab time and couldn't fault the staff at all, the rooms were nice and clean and the food was lovely. We frequented the public bar quiet often which was also friendly. Although the... more

We booked a one night stay at this hotel. It is a Swallow hotel so we expected a certain standard and it didn't live up. We paid £100.00 for a couple for one night. The room had no shower, it had a bath that had mould around it. The room was extremely small. Only 4 channels on the TV, no... more

Just back from two night break at this hotel. Hotel clean, rooms quite basic but did the job. Food was very nice. Good choice each night. However they could try to improve the atmosphere throughout the hotel. A little backing music for instance would make all the difference. Diningroom was so quiet it felt like folk were trying to be... more
