This has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel needs to be shut down and re-furbished. The corridors to the rooms smell awful problable due to the dirty disgusting carpets that look like they have never vacuumed since the hotel was open. They are worn, ripped and in need of replacing. As a... more

On arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by the receptionist at the hotel with what we've found to be the typical Highland welcome - silence and a blank stare. Why does the customer have to make the first gesture up there? My first impression was that the previous bad reports on the site were correct. How wrong I was!... more

we were a bit aprehensive about going to this hotel in light of some of the recent "bad" reviews, we shoudn't have worried.. we arrived at the hotel & were greeted by a friendly receptionist who booked us in within a couple of minutes. room was basic, but very clean. we had a moderately priced bottle of wine with our... more

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in - regretted every minute of it! The hotel is run-down and the rooms are awful. One thing I've always enjoyed about the Highlands is the warm hospitality at reception desks but the staff at this hotel had zero warmth. As it was a Sunday evening and no other eating place in... more

the pictures on the site must have been taken about 10 years ago, this hotel is filthy, from the carpets to the walls to the bathrooms...everywhere. we arrived to be shown down a corridor from the bar area, the corridor was strewn with burst bin bags of food waste, lying on the carpets. the reception area was dirty, carpets especially. our... more

We visited Scotland for history and felt very honoured to stay in your hotel. Yes, the water took a bit to heat in the pipes, but if that is something to complain about perhaps we should have stayed in a new hotel rather than one that is centuries old! The view was amazing and the 10 minute walk to the... more

Stayed at the hotel for two nights, dinner, bed and breakfast and drinks for £60. We were greeted by a gentleman at reception who took our booking, (who was also the chef, waiter, general handyman!). Room was clean, but tired. Evening food ok, but microwavable, and very over cooked. Though came very quick, my partner and I still joke a... more

Initially we booked this hotel during month of August and had great difficulty as the receptionsit at the time spoke very little english. The room was basic and in need of renovation as are the public areas of this hotel. - great diffculty in opening the bedroom window. No shower in the bathroom - only a rather small bath with... more

Thank for your comments regarding your recent stay please be assured that all guest comments are treated seriously. Due to illness the barman was off and we had to bring in another member of staff from another department to cover the bar for the night , he did not follow the stocking up procedures that are normal for the department...

The worst experience of our extensive holiday in Europe/UK. We arrived after a long drive to find the double room booked by the Scottish Tourist Information Office in Edinburgh, was not actually booked and there was nothing available. This was interesting as we had heard the booking made over the phone and had the required paperwork as proof. After waiting... more

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay having looked at the problems you encountered, we have held corrective staff training on handling of telephone bookings. The Kings Arms Hotel has been here from the 1600’s and what it lacks in modern design it make up for in old fashion character and charm. Please accept my apologies for any...
