My husband and I stayed in August for one evening. The approach to the Greshornish was amazing - long dirt road full of sheep and beauty. Both innkeepers (husband and wife) were terrific. Be prepared for a typical small inn type of room (although told would have tv, the cable seemd to be out for some time, so no tv).... more

Unlike many of the reviews here, we had a decidedly mixed experience at this hotel and I'm not sure it warrants being the #1 ranked hotel on Skye (as it is at the time I am writing). The setting is, indeed, beautiful. On an isoalted peninsula on the very far north end of Skye, it overlooks a loch and has... more

My wife and I were travelling with our two teenagers for two weeks in Scotland. We stayed at Greshornish for two nights, but are resolved to return for a longer stay. Neal and RoseMary could not have been nicer hosts, both with abundant information on Skye and Scottish history ( including ancient troubles between my family's clan and Neal's, which... more

Following the favourable reviews posted on this site, my wife and I visted Greshornish for two nights, and were very pleased with the standard of comfort, hospitality and service throughout the hotel. The grounds are lovely when the sun shines, and the hosts attentive when it doesn't. Despite a few reviewers not being too happy with the value and atmosphere... more

Just back from a two night break in this coutry house hotel and happy to report it was a relaxing and comfortable stay. The hotel itself is about 20 minutes outside Portree with the last 2 miles being on a single track road. This is the only way in and out of Greshornish and the first time down you start... more

Skye is a very dramatic place. It's wild, windblown and not convenient... exactly the reasons we love the place. I found Greshnorish (pronounced Gresh - nesh)on the web. It sounded like a place we'd like so we made our web reservations. The directions there were clear and easy to follow but I must admit there were times I wondered if... more

Our trip to Skye was made all the more special by the welcoming sight of the Greshornish Hotel. Situated at the end of a single-track road we were delighted to see this charming house and its beautiful location. We had two rooms, the Shire(double with corner bath) and the Garron (twin). Both were delightfully decorated and although the views from... more

We stayed here a few days after the dyspeptic reviewer of September 13th and had a totally different experience. We were the only guests for our first night and we were delighted to have the place to ourselves , idyllic for my wife who was suffering a stomach upset ( as a result of the cooking at a highly rated... more

We visited the restaurant after seeing the reviews on this site. We were hugely disappointed. After being told to be there at 7 for 7.30 we arrived expecting canapes before dinner but were instead just directed towards the bar, where we were the only guests. The fixed price menu £28 for three courses, so not cheap, was extensive but almost... more

We spent 1 night in the Greshornish House hotel, We had the four poster room, a huge old room with high ceilings fireplace, lounge area, en-suite bath and separate shower. The 4 poster was very comfortable , one of the best i've slept on in a hotel. The dinner was excellent fresh local produce is used cooked to a very... more
