We stayed at the Greshornish Hotel last year for our Wedding Anniversary in July. We had a magical four days. The staff were great, the food was out of this world and the service we received was second to none. I spent a long time in the bathroom-the view over Loch Greshornish from the 'wee' seat was wonderful! I could... more

We were in greshornish only one night as part of our honeymoon. While you´re getting to greshornish you realize that is a special place, you get there trough a private road and you see that around there´s no more property. One there the owners make feel like in your own house (they speak spanish), our room was perfect (islay) with... more

We are a couple with a 5 year old child who visited the week before Easter 2007. The hotel is a well kept georgian property in attractive surroundings with spectacular views of the sea run by a polite and proper, husband and wife team (ex Eton housemaster). Isolated location but well worth finding (TomTom took us straight to the door).... more

My wife and I stayed in Greshornish for four nights at the tail-end of our honeymoon. We found it the ideal place to finish off our holiday before returning to normal life and work again. The hotel itself is more like a family home into which you have been invited than a hotel. Neil in particular (but all the staff... more

My wife and I just spent 3 nights at Greshornish House, and it was just wonderful. I'm surprised to see some negative reviews here. Rosemary (one of the owners) won't win a warm and cuddly award, but she runs a tight ship. Her husband, Neil is very kind and warm. The rooms are fabulous (we stayed in the Islay room,... more

From the website & the airs & graces you'd expect this place to be a treat. It's not. We stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon (which we intimated at the time of booking) only to be greeted coldly by the owner upon our arrival - apparently arriving too late for her taste. We had chosen a fairly... more

We spent a weekend here and thought the hospitality and service were excellent. We stayed in the Jura Room - romantic, peaceful, 6ft bed with a good mattress and views over the grounds. It also had a large bathroom with a lovely roll top bath. The hotel is set off the beaten track but was easy to find, as it... more

My husband and I stayed in August for one evening. The approach to the Greshornish was amazing - long dirt road full of sheep and beauty. Both innkeepers (husband and wife) were terrific. Be prepared for a typical small inn type of room (although told would have tv, the cable seemd to be out for some time, so no tv).... more

Unlike many of the reviews here, we had a decidedly mixed experience at this hotel and I'm not sure it warrants being the #1 ranked hotel on Skye (as it is at the time I am writing). The setting is, indeed, beautiful. On an isoalted peninsula on the very far north end of Skye, it overlooks a loch and has... more

My wife and I were travelling with our two teenagers for two weeks in Scotland. We stayed at Greshornish for two nights, but are resolved to return for a longer stay. Neal and RoseMary could not have been nicer hosts, both with abundant information on Skye and Scottish history ( including ancient troubles between my family's clan and Neal's, which... more
