We came for dinner as the restaurant down the road was full. The hotel was near deserted. In hindsight this was probably a sign. Everything was ok up to the arrival of food. My burger was so cooked on one side that it was charcoal. It seem like it had been forgotten whilst the chef was doing something else. Upon... More

I must admit after reading the reviews I was very hesitant to return to the Dunvegan Hotel. However, as we had stayed there on honeymoon over 27 years ago, we simply wanted to return to the same place so we ignored the reviews. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Everything we requested was delivered quickly and without hesitation. We... More

We visited to take an elderly local relative out for lunch. The six of us were crammed round two small circular tables. The decor is past its best and the rooms are not very clean. For lunch, the food is overpriced. My Cumberland sausage with mash was fine but the rest of the party had very greasy fish and chips.... More

We popped into the Dunvegan Hotel to have lunch following a walk. It was 2.20pm and lunch finished at 2.30 but the gentleman said they would serve us if we wanted lunch. Both of us ordered the fish and chips, priced at 12.50 each, I thought this was a tad expensive but was hungry and hadn't noticed many other places... More

The sign outside the Dunvegan Hotel said "open to non-residents", and that and the bright sunny September evening tempted us in for a drink. The lounge bar looked warm and inviting, with a row of empty bar stools and lots of empty tables too. At some, couples and families were still eating, though the main dining hour had already passed... More

This hotel but more especially it's staff are a terrible advert for the Isle of Skye. As we pulled in the lady who turned out to be bar staff was standing outside smoking and when she realized we were parking, flicked her cigarette onto the ground and flounced into the slowly rotting carcass of what may have once been a... Owners Stuart and Stuart warmly greeted my wife and I on arrival at Dunvegan. Very good and clean facilities and wonderful breakfasts.Dunvegan is right in the middle of town , close to facilities and good base to explore the interesting historical sites in the district.

We happened upon this hotel after a horrible disaster a few miles up the road where we had booked into the Hotel Uig Lodge where the bathroom was so filthy and dirty and the room so bare and austere we had to walk out and try and find somewhere on a Friday night in July in Skye ! With bad... More

First night on Skye, fancied a pint and pub food. What we ate was fine - haddock and chips were fine. Beer OK, wine from a box. Get it yourself vinegar from the shelf, ketchup and tartare sauce from sachets. Decor was from a bygone age (and not in a good way). I am sure that this caused the busy... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in January. I was extremely well looked after. The food was very good "pub grub", and the portions were very generous. Although I would not say this hotel would be ideal for people to stay for a week, it is ideal if you are travelling through Skye or the Highland and are looking for... More
