Where do I start? - firstly I have never written a bad review for any establishment... But Dunvegan Hotel has caused my blood to boil. Me, my wife and our son (6 months old) had been touring Scotland for just over a week and had only experienced the friendliest Scots in many hotels, inns and b&bs all over the country.... More

Visited here with my partner for a lunch and drink as we were staying in a little cottage nearby for the week. The 2 bar staff were Eastern European, pleasant but totally inexperienced with very little understanding of English, this unfortunately made ordering food and drinks extremely awkward. My white wine came out of a wine box.......not good for a... More

I recently stayed for a couple of days with my girlfriend to show her the isle of skye and needed a fairly cheap and cheerful hotel which was exactly what we got.. First impressions were that the hotel itself needs a little bit if work done to it which I put down to the weather as it's next to the... More

Popped in here to a hotel we'd visited a few years ago. We had a super meal of fish and chips - very good indeed and magnificent, fresh fish. The hotel itself did look a bit 'tired' unfortunately, and needed a bit of a lick of paint.

Visited the village with my girlfriend and we thought we would stop for dinner in the hotel before travelling on. Upon entering the hotel the staff were unattentive and unwelcoming requiring us to approach them before asking if they could do food. We were told food wasn't served til half 6, seeing as it was only 6 when we arrived... More

Staying here will ruin your visit to Skye. The rooms were dirty, toilet barely flushed, shower had no power and room was freezing and damp. We were told the heat comes on 3 times a day and that there was nothing they could do about it. We had a family room and double bed was soo awful we made the... More

We came for dinner as the restaurant down the road was full. The hotel was near deserted. In hindsight this was probably a sign. Everything was ok up to the arrival of food. My burger was so cooked on one side that it was charcoal. It seem like it had been forgotten whilst the chef was doing something else. Upon... More

I must admit after reading the reviews I was very hesitant to return to the Dunvegan Hotel. However, as we had stayed there on honeymoon over 27 years ago, we simply wanted to return to the same place so we ignored the reviews. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Everything we requested was delivered quickly and without hesitation. We... More

We visited to take an elderly local relative out for lunch. The six of us were crammed round two small circular tables. The decor is past its best and the rooms are not very clean. For lunch, the food is overpriced. My Cumberland sausage with mash was fine but the rest of the party had very greasy fish and chips.... More

We popped into the Dunvegan Hotel to have lunch following a walk. It was 2.20pm and lunch finished at 2.30 but the gentleman said they would serve us if we wanted lunch. Both of us ordered the fish and chips, priced at 12.50 each, I thought this was a tad expensive but was hungry and hadn't noticed many other places... More
