We had a wonderful stay at Swordale house. The breakfast was delicious and scenic. Very close to a local town and other beauty. You do not have access to technology which was refreshing but should be noted. A wonderful fire was created that crackled as I was able to draw various scenery I had encountered. Beautiful views from the room.

Swordale House is conveniently located, just 2 miles from Broadford and not that much further to the Skye bridge, but it is spectacularly situated in a world of its own. Dramatic mountain views and grazing sheep greet you, before you even step inside this beautiful cottage. There is a nicely furnished parlor with a wicker chair by the sun drenched... More

This bed and Breakfast is slightly outside of broadford so if you are pedestrians (we were) make sure you know how to get there. The place is so peacefull, we really enjoyed our stay. Rooms are cosy, hosts are really nice people, breakfasts were good. Everything you could expect from a good b and b.

Alan and Barbara offer a very welcoming and relaxing B&B. Our en suite room was comfortable and cosy, the breakfasts were delicious - try the home made jam - and they actually lit a real fire for us to come home to, after our busy days exploring the island. I could have happily spent more time at Swordale House, listening... More

Barbara and Alan are with the most friendly people we met while traveling The Highlands. They keep there B&B as the best. Swordale House is very comfortable and a good place to start visiting The Isle of Skye. Our room offered a magnificent view on The Red Hills!

We met with friends at Swordale House on our way north arriving mid afternoon. Barbara and Alan made us tea and basically left us to treat their home as our own. The bedrooms are small and our bathroom was smaller but the views are stunning and the bed was the most comfortable of our visit to this beautiful Isle. The... More

We are three senior (but active) Canadian couples who had the pleasure of staying with Alan & Barbara for three nights in May. They are the perfect hosts! The house is beautiful and is located in a terrific rural setting. You'll want to sit in the lounge and just watch sheep play while the mood of the mountain back-drop changes... More

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. We were warmly welcomed with coffee and shortbread. The bedroom was warm and comfortable with a great view of the Cuillin mountains. Alan & Barbara were very kind and went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. Breakfast was exceptionally good. The roaring open fire in the cosy living... More

My wife and I stayed at the Swordale House for two nights on our honeymoon earlier this year. Barbara and Alan were perfect hosts, offering a wealth of knowledge of the area (the house has been in the family since it was built, and the guest book goes back to the 1960s!) and wonderful conversations. Breakfasts were fantastic (venison sausage... More

We stayed here for two nights with fabulous hosts Barbara and Alan .The house was charming and so relaxing, and the views of The Coolings nestled within a quiet landscape will stay with us forever. Alan recommended places to have dinner which were spot on and so local. The bedrooms were so comforting we even kept the curtains open all... More
