Stayed here as part of a tour and I found it delightful. Nice location, right on the water, easy access to a nice walking path along the water and the village garden/square. Staff are exceptional - very friendly and chatty. Rooms are very spacious wiht good views; view from the dining room is killer! Dinner and breakfast in the dining... more

My children and I stayed here in July as part of a group tour. First the negative: The bathrooms were the worst I have seen - (constantly leaking shower, a toilet that only flushed on every fifth try.) In the morning at breakfast, an alarm went off, and instead of reassuring the guests, the staff either ignored it, or, as... more

Thank you for your feedback which I have discussed with the Heads of Departments concerned. Here at the Dunollie Hotel we pride ourselves in customer service and the standards we offer and clearly on this occasion we have failed to deliver as promised. I would like to thank you for your constructive comments as these will aid us with staff...

After a boring stay in Glasgow, we were pleased to stay at the Dunollie Hotel in Skye...I read dubious remarks by others, and I was concerned about what to expect, but I was very delighted at the room, location of the hotel and accessibility to all the sights on Skye from there! It was really a very nice stay, and... more

Wanted a quick getaway before I started a new job, so booked 2 nights at short notice for this hotel. I had been to Portree before so I knew Broadford was a lot quieter. Hotel was easy to find, and a very clean and smart foyer (compared to other hotels of this class). Got a sea view room which was... more

Dunollie is in need of some refurbishment (also carpark area) but our room & bathroom were spotless. Food is mostly self-service (soup/salad, daily roast/fish/vegetarian, dessert, tea/coffee) but staff are extremely attentive and helpful. There were bus parties staying but this made no difference to the excellent service we received and there was entertainment on a couple of nights. On previous... more

How does one write a review of this hotel? In general terms I'd like to say it was pretty awful but, sad to say, this type of hotel is typical of the Western Isles. In fact, it is better than most of them. But it is a barn of a place. It is the sort of hotel one would expect... more

I used to work for a hotel that took a lot of business from Coach Tours of the blue rinse variety- they would love this hotel. Personally though, I like a little more for my money. The hotel is jaded in decor, with awful bathrooms and if you're very unlucky a view of the house next door which appears to... more

Food was terrible, hotel full of workmen in work clothes in dinning room. Self service, tasteless, dry food. Instant custard, cold bread pudding. White fatty undercooked bacon. Leftover veg chopped up in day afters soup. Even though we paid in advance for evening meal we couldn't face it and went to Indian take away instead. Carvery every night with little... more

This is my 3rd time staying at the Dunollie. This time round I stayed for 3 nights in March. Rooms are comfortable and warm. Hotel was a bit on the chilly side though probably due to the force 10 gales outside! Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was average but good. A help yourself carvery style for dinner and breakfast... more
