Why the heading, well with a little time spent on tidying up the outside and the inner courtyard, more motivation needed than money, the latter could be a delightfull place to sit in fine weather. Ok repainting the outside needs money but first impressions do count as we too have driven past with no desire to stay which is a... more

Our rooms looked out onto a beautiful view of the Loch, but I felt like I was staying in a mildewy basement. Honestly, I coulldn't wait to check out. Can't say that the service was excellent. I waited to check in for 20 minutes because the front desk staff person was on the phone with tech support for their computers.... more

Dunollie was actuallly our 3rd choice hotel for this area, the others were unavalable, as we only booked the day before we arrived. On previous visits to the area, we had discounted staying at the Dunollie,- it looked neglected, a bit sad & run down, so opted to stay somewhere else. The sign over the entrance was, & still is,... more

Disappointing, it needs a lot of maintenance and upgrading. We paid £105 (the hotel advertises their rate at reception as £120) so we expected a lot more that this. Unfortunately most hotels seemed to be busy at the time so we had few options. The hotel has a lot of potential, particularly given the location, but they are obviously busy... more

Outside of hotel looks scabby and run down, needs a good lick of paint. Quick welcome at reception...room very basic with old plastic looking furniture. Tv had only two channels, no remote, view of local supermarket, noise from room above was like someone tap dancing. We didn't meet any local staff! Strange atmosphere at breakfast, boring buffet breakfast. We complained... more

Accommodation OK, but basic and very hot in our room. Evening meal very average with only lousy wines on offer with no table service. Breakfast was reasonably OK. Lots of foreign staff that appeared to be trainees or locals staff that seemed a little 'slow' in the cranial area. Probably acceptable to most coach tours as they seemed to deal... more

We came on a tour with a large group, found great service, a beautiful location, and good food and drink. We were traveling with handicapped adults, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. We are coming back! more

We paid £60 for a double room which was clean and functional, hotel seems to have its share of negative reviews and this is a mystery to me. Is it first impressions? Only grubbier looking bit of the hotel is the outside to the main road. No horror stories about alarms going off, exceptionaly quiet in fact. Excellent breakfast and... more

Reading over the most recent reviews, it would appear that year in and year out nothing ever seems to change at Dunollie, despite having changed hands several times. Alarms going off late at night, people getting sick, dodgy plumbing etc. etc. Having stayed there on several occasions I was always willing to try this place again when the hotel was... more

Stayed 1 night single occupancy of twin room for £40 booked at discount via booking.com. At that price it's OK. This is a hotel that caters very much for coach tours. Be warned the main car park is for coaches only & the car car park is quite small although I was OK as most of the clients appeared to... more
