My husband and I stayed here for one night, and had the best welcome, and a fantastic night's sleep in really comfortable beds. We loved the clean, minimalist, stylish decor, and the garden was lovely to sit in overlooking the sea, drinking cups of tea kindly brought by Fiona upon arrival. Breakfast was generous and delicious and Fiona was very... More

We stayed here as a group of supervisors and assessors for Duke of Ed. Gold expeditions in the Cuillin Hills. The cottage was an excellent choice. It is within a short driving distance of many of the main walks in the hills. The large kitchen, dining area and sun-room / porch area served our large group well. Beds were very... More

Excellent B&B on the Isle of Skye. Within driving distance of Portree and many beautiful walks. Room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Hosts were very friendly and more than happy to give advice about our stay. Would highly recommend.

Comfortable rooms with shared bathrooms. Excellent location in Skye, within driving distance of Portree and great hikes (the drive very scenic). Beautiful surroundings and views over the sea. Very helpful and friendly hosts, with a vast knowledge of Skye and very happy to point you int he right direction or help with a map for a hike.

We stayed for 2 nights en-route to Lairg on our motorbikes. After an initial panic about the gravel (I'm a whimp moving my bike about on gravel!!) drive, we got settled in really quickly into the ground floor room. Such a warm welcome from Richard and Jackie and they were excellent hosts, very kind and caring and we felt really... More

We had a wonderful two night stay. Richard and Jackie are the most lovely and helpful hosts. The rooms were cozy, quiet and comfortable. Richard is a goldmine of information and aimed us in the right direction for both restaurants and sight seeing. We were greeted both mornings with a delicious breakfast that lasted us well through lunchtime. Ailean Cottage... More

Another satisfied customer; I have no qualms about recommending Ailean Cottage to any one. Why not 5* -- location. Whilst Broadford is convenient for most of Skye, and the cottage is convenient for amenities, Ailean Cottage's location [and there are more beautiful places in the NW of Scotland], is somewhat squashed between the sea (Bradford bay, great looking towards the...
