Tobermory on the Isle of Mull made famous firstly by the Wombles and more recently by Balamory is a must for anyone visiting the Inner Herbrides and the Mishnish is one of those brightly colourful buildings seen on postcards located practically at the end of the ferry slipway. We had a two night stay here in November 2014 with group... More

Stayed for two nights in the Mishnish Hotel, confusion with the booking meant we didn't get the room we thought we'd booked however the room we got was fresh and clean ( and we were compensated for the inconvenience of having to move rooms). The second day we got the lovely attic room with view over the Bay and with... More

I am sad to say, I am disappointed with the Mishnish for the following reasons: 1. I came to Tobermory for New Year (Hogmanay). Stayed for four nights. Calve and Mull rooms. 2. First night OK staff good and the evening had a nice atmosphere. 3. Hogmanay started well, food however, indifferent. 4. New Year's Day; had to help myself... More

We visited at approx. 5.30 - way too early for a meal but we hadn't eaten all day! Although the restaurant looked lovely, we never want to be the first ones in so we gave it an hour or so. The staff could maybe have been a bit more welcoming, but once seated we saw the reason for the concern... More

I think this superb hotel had everything and was a great find. The staff were very welcoming, the atmosphere warm and inviting and the room exquisitely furnished. There was a bar which had a great atmosphere to both friendly locals and tourists alike.Dogs lay warming themselves before the fire, adding to the feeling of conviviality. The restaurant certainly looked good to me and the... I have fond memories of the Mishnish as it was - an honest to goodness pub that did great food. They have now decided one half is going to be an 'upmarket' restaurant and one half remain pub with a very thin menu. We decided to give the restaurant a go. We hadn;t booked and if we could have found... More

My wife and I visited Mishnish twice for dinner and drinks. Both visits were very enjoyable. The menu was solid if not exciting and the food itself was pretty good. The bar is probably the most lively of the 'local'-oriented places, with friendly staff and plenty going on. The bar has multiple rooms and 'snugs', so you can choose how... More

This iconic Scottish pub and hotel is getting back to its best. Didn't stay in the accommodation, but the restaurant was very good and the bar and beer garden have been completely refurbished but still retain almost exactly the look and atmosphere of what the 'Mish' used to be (some traditionalists may regret the replacement of the early 18th century... Unfair to give a true reflection of the Mish on this visit as the floors and ceilings were bouncing and the place was generally heaving with revellers However through all of this the staff were patient and attentive
