Our first impression on entering the hotel was WOW !!!! Typically ancient Scotland with stags heads, tartan carpets and huge staircase and fireplace in the reception area. I stayed at the Western Isles hotel recently to celebrate the wedding of an old school friend. A girlfriend and I shared a twin room overlooking the harbour. We paid extra for the view but it was worth it. The room itself was large and the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms do need updating and the staff know that.... more

The hotel is in NEED of a lot of maintenance - even the roof from the upper floors is leaking onto the entrace foyer floor - the dog water bowl to collect the drops does not hide the fact very well. When I complained they advised that they were already aware of the various problems including the "continual mould problem"(!).... more

We loved our four day stay at the Western Isles Hotel. Richard and Esplin are so friendly and welcoming. Our spacious room had a wonderful view and scads of hot water at all times for baths and showers. I love Tobermory and have been going there for several years now with friends and family. A last minute trip this August forced me to book at the expensive Western Isle Hotel.
