The hotel building has history and is of another age to some extent - no lift, squeaky and uneven floors, so if you're looking for something slick, this is not for you. That said it is grand old place that has lost a little lustre but still a great place to stay. The dining room offers really good meals with... More

Stayed at this hotel for four nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed it all, although the fabric of the hotel could undoubtedly do with a considerable amount of renovation and TLC. But the basics were absolutely fine - perhaps faded elegance would best describe it - but the rooms were large, crisp clean bedlinen, loads of hot water whenever you wanted... More

I travel to Mull from time to time on business, normally staying at the Isle of Mull Hotel. However as I wanted to try the fabulous Café Fish in Tobermory I decided to give this hotel a try. What a mistake! Yes the views are stunning but that is it. The hotel is in a very poor, run down condition.... More

The hotel is the 'grande dame' on Mull. Wonderful location, set high above the bay. In transition again with new owners. Previous did much to restore the place...much still to be done. Our room was very comfortable excellent bed, superb view. Breakfast Room stunning! Bar ok and Conservatory dining was fair. Staff friendly and helpful ...no complaints at all. We had three... More

We arrived on Mull with no where to stay. Within 20 minutes we had a room in seemingly packed Tobermory - I thought this a bit weird. This hotel is the grand old dame of hotels here, it sits high on the hill lording it up. It's a bit tired. It's been around the block. But you know it's kind... More

Part of a personal driving tour stayed for 4 nights Fantastic view from the room one of the best ever. We had booked a suite with a water view but it exceeded any expectations. Excellent seating area to take advantage of the views. We had a sort of combined bathroom and dressing room which worked I guess Comfortable beds and... More

Hotel up on the hill overlooking the bay and pier where the ferry comes in. We had a beautiful room with a fantastic view of the bay. The 'Tobermory' room had a bay window with a couple chairs and table where you could sit, enjoy a tea/coffee/hot chocolate and watch the boats sail by. Highly recommended and enjoyable. Wish I... A very pleasant hotel which could be fantastic. Very well situated with commanding views over Tobermory bay and beyond. Many small things need addressing. What is really inexcusable is paint that has been left far too long before decorating. Nearly all of the upper floor doors and stentions need urgent attention, it simply does not give a good feel factor... More

Stayed overnight for Dinner B&B There is no lift in this 3 story building so if you have a problem with stairs best find another. On entry the slightly bare ,tattered end hearth rug gives a misleading impression. There is a lovely guest lounge, beautiful breakfasting room and a very nice conservatory bar/restaurant serving great food and only let down... More

We have stayed here twice, October 2013 and July 2014 - yes it was that good we went back quite quickly. Food and service are excellent. Staff are very helpful at all times, always pleased to advise on places to visit, walks etc. Location is great, being on the top of the cliffs the view is fabulous from the breakfast... More
