Have stay at this hotel with its wonderful location overlooking Tobermory on three previous occasions the last being in May 2007 prior to the current owners taking over. Our last visit was truly awful, this visit was greatly improved. The general fabric of the hotel is a bit tired, but was very clean and welcoming. The bedroom was comfortable with... More

having visited for the past 6 years and seen Richard and Esplin grow the iconic western isles year on year sadly they are moving on to pastures new. Food is excellent as ever the new chef is top notch I rarely photograph food but our meals tasted as glorious as it looked. Friendly family atmosphere personal greeting and excellent customer... We stayed here for three nights and its a good location for discovering Mull. Tobermory has lots of shops and attractions. Its just a short walk downhill into Tobermory, a harder walk back up!!!!! The staff are very friendly and our room on the second floor was huge with super views over the harbour. The bed was big and comfortable... More

We visited this hotel in April and I can say that John F's review is exactly how we experienced the hotel. Shabby, run-down and lacking staff personality - except for one oasis : Linda at reception. The 'restaurant' is like a roadside café with lino floor and a man-in-black, Johnny Cash waiter-with-attitude, but the breakfast dining room is delightful! We... More

Probably THE best vegetarian meal I have ever had (38 years a veggie) also catered brilliantly for a 9 year old, they even let the dog sit under our table instead of sitting in the car. Wonderful friendly service in a beautiful setting with the best view you could imagine. Will be coming back this year and will of course... More

We were recommended to visit this hotel and it didn't disappoint. It is a traditional hotel in every sense of the word. Yes it was a bit shabby in places, but this added to it's character. I loved all the eccentricities. The room was lovely and clean, I loved the hotel information folder, where the owners were so honest about... More

We recently reached our ruby wedding, and to celebrate we booked a couple of nights at this hotel. We frequently stay at various hotels in a cheap chain with hotels throughout Britain, but for this we wanted a memorable luxurious experience, and this seemed to fit the bill. Well, it was memorable! The entrance was an indication of what was... More

Yes, our hearts sank at the first appearance of the lobby and reception but.... What lovely helpful and caring people at this hotel. Rooms may be a bit faded and tatty in places but perfectly clean and comfortable. Big rooms, big comfortable bed, also take time to read the hotel info. so much to learn about the hotel and the... Had a family evening meal here as recommended by our hosts at The Croft. Food was generally good with large portions - salmon grill outstanding, haddock and chips good value and kids meals of chicken Goujons enormous. Kids meal of sausage and mash a disappointment as sausages hard and no veg accompaniment. Good location and view however would be better... More

The hotel entrance is a disaster in terms of first impressions, with terrible mats and worn carpets. So skip over that and make your way immediately onto the terrace for an unbeatable and breathtaking view. Terrace is under-optimized, too few tables and no sun umbrellas. An opportunity! Stunningly quiet on a July Wed and Thursday and we could not understand... More
