The welcome wasn't exactly welcoming, and things went downhill from there. The room was dark and dreary (yes, I know, it's the 'cabin' look although the dodgy slipper chair wasn't in keeping), the blind on the window didn't work, the towels were tiny, and the bed the most uncomfortable ever (and it was a king size bed with a double... more

We booked a night at the Glenforsa at the end of our stay in Mull, mainly on the basis that it had a room when everywhere else seemed booked up. We developed some trepidation when each time someone asked ‘where are you staying tonight’ and we said the Glenforsa they raised they eyebrows, laughed, said it is weird, mentioned Faulty... more

Let me start this review with an observation. The Glenforsa hotel is not some 5* glitzy city centre hotel that some of the people here are seemingly expecting. The Glenforsa hotel is a comfortable well kept and very welcoming place to stay. The views are amazing, the location is stunning, the food is superb, both the owner and his wife... more

I was a bit worried with the establishment after booking there for two nights, and after reading some reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I have been well pleased with my choice. The hotel is made of a main lodge with the reception, a bar and a restaurant room on the ground floor, and a lounge on the first floor, and chalets... more

I booked this hotel just a couple of nights before my interview at Tobermory High for the post of Deputy Head teacher. I came off the ferry with my hair standing on end - and phoned the hotel to see if I could check in and smarten myself up before the interview. No problem, I was able to drop off... more

Most people don't come to the Isle of Mull for five star hotels. They come to spend time blending with nature. The position of this hotel is wonderful, with views out over the water. We even saw sea eagles flying past. The restaurant is fantastic and the staff wonderful. If you like aviation there can be few better places to... more

Booked at short notice and after reading the reviews for the hotel was a bit apprehensive as to what to expect. We were holidaying with friends and all of us thought the hotel ideal for our overnight stay. All the wood panneling did make the bedrooms quite dark but they were clean and full of character and a change from... more

I spent one Saturday night in the hotel with my girlfriend. It was completely empty and the owners prepared the room with 3-4h notice after a phone call. It was a bit chilly at first (really cold weekend, heavy snow in Scotland) but it warmed up soon. Not as warm as I'd want it, but it would have been a... more

I was able to book a room here at the last minute despite it being peak holiday season - I soon found out why. Firstly the approach to the hotel is far from attractive - its more like a caravan site than a hotel. On arrival we were "welcomed" by a surly lady who led us down the dark corridors... more
