Achnadrish is at the North end of Mull, surrounded by woodland gardens, (with a waterfall) and hidden amongst trees and moorland at the head of a valley which opens out to Loch Frisa. It dates from 1695 and was once a shooting lodge for the Quinish estate. Now it is the home of Mike and Jane Story who welcomes guests to stay for bed and breakfast, and there are also two self-catering holiday cottages available for weekly rental. more » « less

Travelling through Scotland, Achnadrish House was our first place to stay and proved to be the perfect escape from a busy life in southern England. Unbeaten hospitality and delicious breakfast: Stay at least three nights in order to sample a variety of breakfasts available! Should you consider trying haggies for the first time, try them here. We enjoyed the awesome... more

During our recent visit to Scotland, my wife and I spent three wonderful days on the Isle of Mull at Achnadrish House. This is a beautiful 300 year old home, elegantly furnished and surrounded by the quiet of woods and fields. The large guest lounge and dining room as well as the very comfortable and well appointed bedrooms transcend the... more

We just returned from a short-break holiday on Mull. The three days spent at Achnadrish House made the trip extra special. It's in a great location and we agree 100% with all the reviews which refer to the easy charm of Mike and all his family. Mike has recently started to offer home-cooked evening meals for guests who want them.... more

What a fantastic B&B. We felt it was home from home - with the added benefit of not having any dishes to wash! Jane and Mike are great hosts and made us feel as though we were part of the extended family. The girls, including the 3 lovely dogs, always gave us a warm welcome. The accommodation is first class... more

It has all been said but we enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay. Mike is a very attentive host, even taking the time to share a wee dram of an evening! Even the most reclusive of characters would feel part of the family here. It is a true gem of a find on an island of which it's hard to believe... more

The house, the surroundings, and the family - including the dogs, all have character. So much so that we have just enjoyed our second stay with Mike and 'Gang' at Achnadrish and have already booked our third for next year. We may even return later this year! Looking at previous reviews we can see that all of our thoughts and... more

From the moment we arrived at the stunning Achnadrish House we knew we had stumbled upon something special and that was just the start. Mike, Jane and the family were so welcoming and made us feel instantly at ease in their beautiful home. Our bedroom was large and homely with gorgeous views of the gardens and surrounding countryside and the... more

Mike, Jane and the girls are genuinely wonderful traditional Scottish hosts. We arrived to a large clean en suite room and this provided an excellent base to explore Mull. They have 3 adorable labradors that are very well behaved in very good shape. We woke on the first morning to an amazing sight of red deer in the back garden... more

I have stayed at Achnadrish House several times over the last few years and it really is like going back to see old family. The house is the dream Scottish Highlands country house and you really don't want to leave when you get there. If you love dogs - this is the place for you. Meg, Zoe and the lovely... more

Having never been to Mull before, we weren't sure what to expect. We guessed walks in breathtaking scenery, fresh air, great seafood - we got it all thanks to our amazing hosts at Achnadrish House. Not only was the accomodation better than some boutique hotels we have stayed in, Jane and Mike were fantastic with local info. The bed was... more
