This hotel is in a great natural setting, with the large bar/restaurant windows looking out on the loch. It's also in a good location on the road to Iona, and lots of tourists pass through here, so it has great potential - just such a pity the place is looking really tired, worn and outdated. The hotel recently changed hands... More

Had an evening meal here on Thursday night, fish & chips was OK but not great. This is the second meal my husband and I have had since the new owners took over. Had fish & chips the first time and batter and fish was very dry as if it had been previously cooked. Not good!!!

We stayed overnight and had dinner, B&B. The price for 3 adults, including (a considerable number of) drinks was £170. Yes, the place is run down, but the view of the bay is superb. The owner told us he only took over the week before. We were served well-prepared, well flavoured food from an adequate a la carte menu &... More

Having stayed here on many occasions over the years we were very interested to visit the hotel again at the weekend as had been informed that it had changed ownership a few weeks ago. The improvements are apparent as soon as you enter the premises with plenty of friendly local staff available. With 3 large groups of people all arriving... More

This is a very basic hotel in a great location, now under new management. I stayed with a group of 6 for 2 nights. The rooms were clean, very dated and beds with blankets and sheets. Food basic but good though we would have appreciated a different option on the 'Specials' menue the second night and a good local ale.... More

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel - which is recently under new management. It's nothing fancy but is pleasant, very friendly and the food and beer are everything you need from a village pub. And the location is out of this world. We will be back regularly.

this is a really interesting and high value choice. its about an hour from the ferry but very handy for Iona. it is very cosy comfortable and although the decor is plain it is very practical. our bedroom was an unusual shape but comfortable and the on-suite had a very effective shower. the food was very good, well cooked simple... After spending a few hours touring the south end of Mull, we went to eat at this hotel only to find a large board inside the front door telling us that no meals would be served that evening, we later found out that they only take bookings and when they have 10/12 people booked they dont take anymore, I had... I stopped at this hotel/pub for a quick bite on the road to Iona. I wasn't expecting any particular quality service or food, as the place is not an actual restaurant. However, I must say that my idea was completely wrong. At The Argyll Arms, I had the best burger I've ever had the pleasure to taste; it was cooked... More
