stayed there last month for one night and want to go back again. Such a quirky place with terrific hosts who even found a Stackridge album to play when I mentioned I liked them! Fabulous setting, delicious food and relaxed atmosphere

Richard was wonderfully obliging and welcoming. Helped us out enormously when we had problems with the ferries. The food was excellent, and he fosters an atmosphere of cosy, homely chat with other guests. Stunning location. Perfect getaway.

Its difficult to categorise Baile na Cille as it doesn't conform to the usual 'hospitality industry' stereotypes, and this is exactly why we liked it so much. Its probably closest to a 'country house hotel' but without the pretentiousness often found in these establishments. Richard Gollin has succeeded in creating an atmosphere of informality without sacrificing high service standards. The house... More

Off the scale, wonderful location, food, accommodation, proprietor & staff - everything a little bit informal/unusual/educational not to mention marginally eccentric - but then you've come to the very "edge" of the UK, which is a damn site more remote (& beautiful) than many folk might realise

Baile na cille is a big surprise on this island! Surrounded by an amazing nature with endless white beaches, a turquoise sea and hundreds of sheeps and bunnies. This historical house is very relaxing and calm and perfect to recharge your batteries. Here we found a place which was arranged like an alive museum with a very personal touch of... More

What an amazing place! Baile-na-Ciille Is perfect! We stayed in a large double room with an amazing en-suite! Views to die for. Richard is the perfect host, and cooked a great meal on our first night and recommended a good local venue when he did not cook on the Saturday night. Great walks across the beach at low tide and... A lovely old place in a beautiful setting. The beach and surrounding landscape is unbelievably beautiful. When the tide is out, Richard will show you how to read the tide clock so you don't get trapped on the other side, the walk on the sand and hills is wonderful. Breakfast is fun as the food is prepared and residents chat... More

Friends had recommended Baile-na-Cille primarily for its location on the edge of a breathtaking stretch of endless sandy beach. But this didn't really prepare us for the full B-n-C experience. We had the glittering expanse of sand, the endlessly changing prospect, the comfortable rooms and the excellent breakfasts. But we also had the charm and humour of Richard Gollin, the... More

We booked a room at Baile-na-Cille on the off-chance as we were touring the Outer Hebrides. OK it's pricey and the room we stayed in was basic (no ensuite - but huge!) but those are trifles when you consider the whole experience. Firstly there are the views, simply stunning. I doubt if any hotel in Britain is in a more... More

We had a wonderful stay with our two daughters - the food was excellent, and we were looked after wonderfully by our host, who even found time to play table football with Dad and the teenagers. And needless to say, the location is very special - could spend the whole day just watching the water creeping in and out over... More
