Pat and Henry provided an idyllic stay in Stornoway. Read all the other reviews and you will understand. They are situated a 20 to 25 minute walk from the bus station. It is a welcome walk as Pat's breakfasts are so sublime and extensive that we needed the exercise, and it was so nice to walk along the water's edge... More

You know your favourite relative? The one that, as a kid, you always wanted to go and stay with because they spoilt you rotten? That's Pat at Carnan Beag... I've never been so well looked after at a B&B or hotel. It's not even that nothing was too much trouble. It was more that you didn't have to ask in... More

Pat is the perfect host in every way and made my stay for 2 nights last April unforgettable. Both she and husband Henry are most gracious and kind and a treasure trove of information about the island (and many other things, especially the movement of Nato warships in the Minch ;-)). Their b&b is immaculately clean, well-appointed, centrally located and... More

Carnan Beag overlooks the Sandwick Bay. To get to the center of Stornoway you take the footpath around the bay. It takes about 20 minutes walking. For everyone that is motorised it doesn't matter anyway. First of all you could not imagine somebody more generous than Pat the landlady! I've stayed there for altogether 5 nights. It started with picking... More

We stayed three nights with Pat & Henry in May 2013. From the moment we arrived until our departure we were treated like old friends. Want examples? We were given an impromptu whiskey tasting on our first night. Or there was Pat lending my wife a pair of her waterproof trousers on a particularly wet day. Another day she sent... More

I stayed with Pat and Henry whilst trying to find a house as I am now on a 2 year secondment to the Isles. I have never experienced hospitality like it anywhere. All the good things about the B&B have been said. Pat and Henry are now friends forever. Thank you both for looking after me.

Stayed with Pat back in March, but have only just had time to write a review - this was quite possibly the best B&B I have ever had the pleasure of staying at, and the fact that there is nothing less than a 5-star rating for Carnan Beag on Trip Advisor really says it all. Pat & Henry welcome you... More

Pat was very welcoming and friendly. Extremely helpful with every aspect of the holiday - especially tips on things to see and places to eat. Really good breakfasts, a clean comfortable room and pieces of cake and fudge into the bargain! We had a great time.

With no exaggeration Carnan Beag is, without doubt, the best hotel or B&B either of us has ever stayed at. Having not seen any of the Trip Advisor comments before our stay, I had assumed Pat and Henry were treating us particularly well as we were their only guests - it is the measure of them both that every review... We stayed here for 2 nights with our adult son. Everything was absolutely perfect. The breakfasts were unbelievable, with more choices of fresh fruits and jams than I have ever seen in my entire life. And Pat went way beyond the call of duty when she delivered my son's toiletry bag that he had left in his room to us... More
