Braighe House is a slightly upmarket guest house or B&B. We did not like the location, quite a way out of Stornoway on a busy main road with a very exposed and uninteresting view over the sea. There were no restaurants within walking distance and because dinner was not catered for this necessitated a taxi in and out of town... More

We stayed for one nigth prior to returning to the mainland. The house is impeccable and beautifully decorated but .... Our room was rather small, expecially when you have two large suitcases and other bags. I have stayed in many B&Bs over the years but question the 5 star rating which also reflects the price you pay. Breakfast was really... More

We stayed at Braighe House for just 1 night but wish it could have been more, especially after such a gorgeous breakfast in the morning! Alison and John were incredibly hospitable and had no problem accommodating some special dietary requirements we had. With a fantastic knowledge of not just Stornoway but much of the Outer Hebrides, Alison was able to... More

Alison and John took care of us when we stayed here for one night during our Honeymoon last year. When we arrived we were told (by the mother of one of them I think) that there was a problem, but it turned out to be minor - we couldn't check in straight away as John had to drive someone to... More

We stayed two nights at Braighe House whilst I was walking the 230 mile Timeless Way in the Outer Hebrides. The only negative things about it is that it's quite a way out of Stornoway for eating in the evening and it's expensive. That being said, you get what you pay for. And at Braighe House you get it all.... More

Braighe House is simply the best B&B we have ever visited. We have just returned from a multi island holiday in the inner and outer Hebrides staying at around seven different hotels. Braighe House is large property a couple of miles beyond Stornoway Airport and overlooking the sea with distant views to Skye. The elegant house if furnished to the... More

This is really a small hotel rather than a B&B. Our room was large, clean and well decorated, and we had a glorious sea-view. We were initially concerned seeing so many cars on the drive, that the place was huge, but learned the owners also operate a rental company, to which these vehicles belonged. Lovely sitting room, with complimentary drinks.... More

Spent three nights in late May - a wonderful experience in every respect. Spacious and welcoming public areas and warm sizeable bedrooms. The bathrooms were large and well provided with all the usual amenities. Having taken part in the Stornoway half marathon on a wet and windy Saturday my gear was rinsed and dried in double quick time. The prize... More

Room had everything we needed even if it wasn't particularly big - the bathroom was lovely and delightfully clean! Everything was well presented and you really get the impression of thought and care going on behind the scenes here. Breakfast is fantastic and definitely worth writing home (or to tripadvisor!) about! We loved the breakfast options/ quality and service.. talking... More

My first time ever in a B&B normally stay in hotels but it was well up there. Alison (owner) was lovely really welcoming, nothing was a problem. Room was stunning- loving the embroidered initials, great shower. Alison made a take away breakfast for us because we were leaving at 6am, it was brilliant, although the sit down breakfast sounded as... More
