This was our second visit to the Sandwick Bay and as with our first visit we were not disappointed. We had a twin room facing over the beautiful bay. The room had its own wash basin though we did share the main bathroom complete with its bath and separate shower cubicle. This was no hardship! The WiFi worked fine in... More

Having come to Stornoway on business for 5 days, the choice of guest house was Sandwick Bay, to which on arriving late Saturday evening from the ferry into Stornoway, I was welcomed by Jim the owner who knew I was arriving and showed me to my room and amenities in the house. Now I have read all the comments on... More

The web site is not only misleading but downright untruthful. The web site describes a large double en-suite with sea views. We booked this for 4 nights as the centrepiece of our holiday at £105 per night. On arrival we were taken to a medium size back room with views of the back yard and scrap yard beyond! We were... I have stayed here twice now and would recommend to anyone. Jim and Inga are so welcoming, even offering to pick me up from the airport and take me to the work I was doing at the hospital ;) The breakfast is really good, great view over the bay and the rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. Nothing bad... More

Spotlessly clean, great breakfast, peaceful location, friendly host ! Wonderful sea view. Pre ordered breakfast was spot on. Comfortable nights sleep. . Shared facilities, but not a problem, as more than enough bathrooms to go at! All very clean.

I stayed for about two weeks in November/December and cannot fault the value for money and service. The location is slightly out of town but otherwise extremely good. The owner is an interesting character. He seems to work on the principle that if you are running a B&B you do it perfectly. He went out of his way to be... More

Spotlessly clean and a host that went far above and beyond what could be expected. Two of our group had additional needs which were fully accommodated. 10/10 for service. Great breakfast also. Overall, very good value for money. Thank you so much.

I was at the end of a long journey and found I could have stayed here for the whole 2 days I had booked. The view was stunning from the living room. Cab fare into town is only 4 quid and the restaurants are difficult to choose from. Stornoway is a hidden gem in the Hebrides. The people are friendly... More

Sandwick Bay Guesthouse is a wonderful place. Marvellous view over the bay. Great opportunities to walk or run in the surroundings. Prima breakfast - at your choice, and there are plenty to choose among. It is a B&B, so some of the roms are not ensuite, but there are two bathrooms to share with others. No problem. The landlord is... More

Thought I'd spend a day/night in Stornoway before the ferry back to mainland, and this is where I ended up. Not terrible, but it was slightly lacking. Had the ground floor single, with an excellent view of a garage and washing line, but the room was roomy, clean and warm. However, some of that space could have used for such... More
