Very good and pictoresque location close to the harbour and town center. We were two middle aged couples who stayed for four days. Ali and Shona were outstanding. Very frindly and helpful. Their fish n' chips is a must! The rooms were clean and comfy. Charming B&B.

We stayed here for three nights and had a twin room with shared bathroom. Lovely feel to the accomodation with a traditional Scottish / nautical decor. Even though it was a shared shower room, it was light and airy with views overlooking the harbour, great first thing in the morning as the town is waking up! We were delighted with... More

Very good B&B, well run, rooms nicely presented, very private, more like a small hotel. Very clean, good beds and a good breakfast, very hard to fault. Well located just away from ferry terminal with plenty of off road parking. A real find, would return again.

Genuine, nice family. They went way beyond what was expected including chasing us down on the ferry to return a lost item. I would highly recommend. I can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B. John

We had a lovely 4 nights in this authentic Hebridean croft house on the historical 'Captain's Row'. Lovingly restored with a clever mix of tartan, plaid, and nautical themes, definitely gave it a very tasteful Scottish maritime feel. Unfortunately we did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners who were out of town, however their extended family more than... More

Managed to get a very late booking at this delightful BnB at a time when every bed on the island was booked up. Received a very warm and friendly from Ali the owner, who shared lots of information about the wonderful Isle of Lewis. Our room was very nice, overlooking the harbour, with a clever little retro-fitted ensuite. Enjoyed the... More

Although my travel partner and I didn't actually stay at Hal o' the Wynd, we stopped in for their renowned fish 'n' chips, and were treated to Hebridean hospitality at its best. Ali and Shona did absolutely everything to make us feel welcome in Stornoway, from providing us with a filling meal, to giving us bus directions, sightseeing advice, and... More

We were made to feel very welcome, even though the ferry was late and consequently so were we! Banter at breakfast was lovely and the breakfast itself was very nice. The room we shared (myself and a friend) was nice and roomy with tea/ coffee facilities. We had to share a bathroom, but we knew this when we booked, and... More

Stayed here for 2 nights - absolutely lovely. Rooms are spotless & well equipped. Ate in their wee cafe each evening - best fish & chips ever. Slept really wel. Breakfast was lovely. Owners are very friendly & welcoming. Weather was pretty awful but we were warm & cosy & well fed.
