This Hotel used to be known as the Bonaventure and it is still called as such of you have a search on the internet for it. It is a bit of a drive to get to the place a mixture of dual and single track but that is the way on the island. It is described as a restaurant with... more

Very friendly welcome from Andy who runs the place well, keeps guests informed about what to do and where to go, and cooks at the same time. Very good food (local diver-caught scallops are fantastic). Amazing, spectacular location on headland over the Atlantic, which is unusual in Outer Hebrides where so many places are inland or on the eastern (sheltered)... more

Stayed here for one night in May as part of a three night trip to Lewis & Harris. Picked on the basis of recommendations on this site and wasnt disapointed. We were driving so found it easy to get to, arrived when it was pretty quiet so got chatting to Andy, the owner - all very welcoming. Location is fab... more

Stayed 2 nights at the Gallan Head b&b with a friend. Great welcome, clean and comfortable rooms, spacious bathroom. We also eat at the restaurant - very nice menu, delicious food, well presented, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Great breakfast too - only gripes (and I stress they are minor ones all things considered) were the coffee (instant!) and the... more

I planned this trip as a Birthday suprise for my partner and we had an amazing time. Andy, the owner made us feel incredibly welcome and spoiled us throughout the trip. The food he prepares is of a very high standard - make sure you try the whisky custard! The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable with a choice of... more

After a long, tiring journey , Andy (the new proprietor) made us feel immediately welcome. What a place! You must go and discover for yourself. Andy is an experienced and talented chef who should be proud of the hospitality he provides. The menu of locally sourced food is excellent, the helpings huge, and the advice on wine was spot on.... more

We had a really great time here. From the moment we rocked up, the staff were friendly, helpful and considerate. We ate well, drank some really excellent wine, slept, bummed around and read the papers. The owner Andy, could not have been more helpful; he cooked the most deliciaous food, organised our laundry, let us wash out our surf gear,... more

The setting for the Gallan Head Restaurant and Hotel is a great place. At first glance it looks somewhat bizarre, set on the edge of an ex-RAF radar station. But once inside, you're looking out over Gallan Head, the most north-westerly part of the British Isles. The restaurant is fanastic. Andy focuses on local, fresh ingredients and the portions were... more

we stayed for two nights in mid July and our stay couldn't have been better. The rooms are not luxurious but comfortable and more than adequate. The food is sublime. The restaurant changed hands in 2006 but the quality and the level of service was fabulous. Great menu, lovely company. more

Not a hotel...a fabulous experience. French cuisine meets Celtic charm. Basic rooms but French owner/chef Richard will make you feel one of the family right away. Perched over the Atlantic cliffs and thundering surf...a haunt for stalkers in season which brings venison unexpectedly to the menu one night. What an improbable delight on the very edge of nowhere more
