Very clean room, rustic and homely bar, with a laid back island atmosphere. The pool table has probably seen better days ;) decent jukebox. Ask for room 12, the bathroom is HUGE. Excellent breakfast. . The 3 local distilleries, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, and Laphroig, are within reasonable hiking distance. About a 30 minute hike to Laphroig, and another 30 in between... More

The interior was worn down. The toilet was hard to flush. The bed was hard and springy. But the staff was nice and the location is good. The breakfast was good but we didn't realize that it wasn't included (10£ pp). I would say it's an ok stay for two nights.

We visited this hotel for four nights. The room we had had a beautiful view over the beach, the room itself was drab and tatty. The white bed cover had a large stain on it. There was no hair dryer. The dining room was tatty and not overly clean. The breakfast was plentiful, although the tea and coffee sat on... More

stayed here recently while on Islay for a business meeting check in was straight forward and was given a room on the 2nd floor of the hotel. the room was nice enough and the bathroom was probably the same size as the room itself. i arrived around 9pm with some colleagues and went to the bar for a drink after... This hotel is located in a great location. You are literally across the street from the bay and it is dog friendly. That however, is where all the praise ends. Upon, checkin we were handed room 2 and the owner originally suggested room 10 when I spoke to him on the phone. The receptionist assured me there was no difference... More

Where to begin....arrived at my suite with wallpaper literally peeling off the wall. Lovely view of the dumpster at the back of the hotel, but seemed clean and was in our budget. Hit the lightswitch, and took out not only the power in our room, but at least part of a couple of others. We were moved to a small... More

I stayed in the White Hart for three nights last week and it was my first stay since the hotel was last renovated around fifteen years ago. I booked with trepidation following some of the TA reviews but found my room as I remembered it all those years ago, including the weird plumbing system. Granted the carpet had seen better... More

I can't even begin to explain how awful our experience was here. We entered for dinner, asked for a table.. When we confirmed we had not booked we could here mutterings about us being an inconvenience and how the chef was not happy .. There was about 6/7 people around however I got the impression what they wanted was to... More

We have stayed at the White Hart during Feis week for the last 6 years. We love staying here. The staff are the best - really friendly, helpful and hardworking. The breakfasts are amazing (and just what you need before a day of distillery visiting!). The island is jam packed with tourists for Feis week, but the hotel still manages... More

So this review is for the restaurant only. We decided to go there after viewing the menu online. Talk about a bait and switch - the menus presented to us were more bar menus - I asked about the lamb that was on the online menu and was just told they don't have it The starters arrived - one of...
