Me and my wife spent there two nights because all B&Bs on Islay were full when we contacted them those days (what a surprise ;-)). We needed a shower after some wild camping. This place has a really nice location. You can watch sunset from your tent or the beach and listen to the waves whole night. My wife had... More

Interesting reading these reviews. I agree with both the negative and the positive ones. In terms of the former, it is expensive for the level of facilities on offer. I was surprised to find myself handing over £85 for 5 nights (2 adults and a small family tent). Perhaps new owners would invest in a dedicated toilet block but at... More

The location is superb for those who like to camp right on the shore. Beautiful beach views, spectacular sunsets, and the sound of the waves to send you to sleep. A word of warning - it can be very windy and so you'll need a robust tent. The facilities are adequate - 2 toilets and one shower each for men... More

We stayed in Machair Cottage whilst we were up for the whisky festival. We all had a fantastic time. Mrs MacTaggart and her husband were very helpful. The house was very well equipped and we were given welcome biscuits which everyone loved. Yes it was expensive, but the location alone made it worth it. We would definitely go back. The... More

I do not recommend you camp at Kintra Farm!! I have never stayed in a campsite with such high prices and such poor facilities. I don’t mind basic facilities at all however; these facilities are extremely poor for the price you pay. The price is calculated per person and a fee for tent etc is added on. There is only... More

Terrific location, beach, peace and quiet. Camped for 3 nights, one of the best campsites in the World, and I've been to a few. Not the kind of place you go to to watch telly or use your mobile phone. Watch the sunset and wildlife instead! Recommended!

Just returned from camping on Kintra Farm a great well run little campsite right next to the ocean, dont be put off by other's reviews about signs as we didnt see any. Also remember it is camping not a hotel , we kept to ourselves and had no bother and the owners were great. See you soon

We booked a night but never made it to the farm. When we called to pick up the keys the lady almost insulted us because we didn't come straight from the ferry. She started telling us she didn't wan't to rent the room anymore and was very patronising. The most surprising thing is that when we tried to set up... More

We stayed at Traigh Cottage with our two little girls and had a wonderful relaxing break. The cottage is a great size for families with a spacious modern kitchen and comfortable living/ dining room space - all open plan. We found the owners to be very welcoming and attentive. MargaretAnne seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great... More

This cottage is in the most beautiful setting on a stunning beach. I stayed there with family for a week at Easter and enjoyed every minute, the weather was a bonus and we were able to watch glorious sunsets on the beach each evening . The cottage is bright, very spacious and well maintained. The large kitchen is perfect for... More
