Can't understand anyone that has written anything negative. When camping on a campsite, I'm sure everyone is looking for the same, cleanliness in the facilities, a hot shower, not too far from anything local & cheap. 100% clean, hot showers. Half hour drive to the ferry terminals and distilleries etc. and cost £8 each per night. Compared to the price... More

Stayed at this great campsite for two nights in September. We were very lucky with the weather being fantastic. The views over the bay are outstanding and we were able to set up the tent with uninterrupted views over the coastline. The facilities are great - clean toilets and showers with hot water, a nice kitchen and access to a... More

An excellent relaxed site with a gorgeous location and great facilities. We arrived at 2130 and found that the Warden works from 0830 to around 1700 each day so we were happy to find our own pitch and then see him in the morning. This was fine for us in our motorhome as we turned up a night early after... More

Foe such a largish island as Islay, I was surprised to find there were only 2 campsites there; we stayed in both & this pips the other one at Kintra Beach - just. On the ++++ side are the view across to Ireland, closeness to the village & it's excellent pub, plenty of space, friendly staff of James and Anna,... More

Just come back from a week there. Views across the loch amazing (I'll never get tired of it) site facilities well kept, friendly staff. On site and the attached cafe (which is a bonus if you don't want to cook). When back on Islay I'll be heading straight there again.

we stayed in our tent for 4 nights at the end of june and loved every minute. prices were very reasonable and the showers/toilets etc were spotless. we never seen any rain for the 5 days we were on the island and had blue sky every day (i don't think this is the norm though). you need a car to... It's a campsite beside football fields. Its not particularly glamorous but has the advantage of being walking distance to Port Charlotte (and the lovely Port Charlotte hotel) and being very cheap. The field is wide open and overlooks a lake which is nice. Only problem is that if you pitch overlooking the lake be sure to make sure your tent... More

Visiting for 4 nights in our campervan at the end of April the site wasn't too busy and we pitched on a hardstanding with hook-up. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable - can't remember exactly how much but in the region of £18 for hardstanding with hook-up. Spotless toilet/shower facilities and excellent breakfasts in the... More

What a view!!! The camp site was good value for money, the facilities were modern and kept clean and had everything you needed in terms of domestics. I would advise booking in advance in you want a hook up as there are only 10. As is typical in a small community, facilities are used for a lot more than just... More

When we arrived at the campsite I was disappointed. The camping pitch is a strip of grass (with an admittedly stunning view) at the edge of a football pitch, one of two football pitches that take up the land at Port Mor Centre. It was quite crowded, with tents very close together. I usually look for remote location and lots... More
