First time camping in about 20 years and don't think we could have picked a better place to start. The site itself had plenty of space, facilities for young children a cafe, great showers, washing and cleaning facilities. We took the tent but there are spaces for motor homes, I think there are some electric hook ups available. The staff... More

What a brilliant camp site, James & Anna are a credit to this well run site. Great hardstanding for 1/2 a dozen or so motorhomes with power. Grass field for other vans & tents. fabulous facilities with powerful showers. The on site Rhinns cafe is open early till late for nice food, no licence but you can bring your own... More

We spent four nights at this site, Its community run and the staff are great (really great), so easy to talk to and they are so relaxed they seem to spread it to you to. The site is open to the elements (we arrived and put the tent up in 25 to 30 mph winds with only one argument) and... More

Our 3rd visit to this camping site .Piper James and his team run this place superbly .It's spotlessly clean with great Toilets/showers /washing/drying facilities . One suggestion would be to provide more privacy for dressing. There is space to provide curtained off areas for this Cafe & lounge area There are tray bakes left out for late arrivals with honesty... This is a fabulous campsite on Islay with great staff. The staff are young so are innovative and know what will get people to stay. They have a great play park for children and a football pitch which is ideal for families. It is serene and scenic and is situated in a lovely area on the outskirts of Port Charlotte... More

I've just returned home after 5 nights camping here for the whisky festival and, despite being warned by staff of cold showers and busy facilities due to the whisky festival, can't say this was a problem! The camp site is located a 5 minute walk from Port Charlotte and right on the shore. You can choose where to pitch your... More

Can't understand anyone that has written anything negative. When camping on a campsite, I'm sure everyone is looking for the same, cleanliness in the facilities, a hot shower, not too far from anything local & cheap. 100% clean, hot showers. Half hour drive to the ferry terminals and distilleries etc. and cost £8 each per night. Compared to the price... More

Stayed at this great campsite for two nights in September. We were very lucky with the weather being fantastic. The views over the bay are outstanding and we were able to set up the tent with uninterrupted views over the coastline. The facilities are great - clean toilets and showers with hot water, a nice kitchen and access to a... More

An excellent relaxed site with a gorgeous location and great facilities. We arrived at 2130 and found that the Warden works from 0830 to around 1700 each day so we were happy to find our own pitch and then see him in the morning. This was fine for us in our motorhome as we turned up a night early after... More

Foe such a largish island as Islay, I was surprised to find there were only 2 campsites there; we stayed in both & this pips the other one at Kintra Beach - just. On the ++++ side are the view across to Ireland, closeness to the village & it's excellent pub, plenty of space, friendly staff of James and Anna,... More
