The rating system on Trip Advisor must have a gremlin as Kilmeny House has 26 excellent reviews yet does not come out on top. My review is only adding to the list, as There is nothing you can fault Kilmeny House for. It's perhaps reassuring to stay in hotels where you know in advance what the rooms are like with good quality MDF furniture, hospitality trays with little tubs of UHT milk and a single packet of shortbread biscuits. We have just returned from 4 nights at Kilmeny Country House on Islay and although I have read many reviews this is the first time I have been moved to write one.
