I was looking for a single room but hadn't booked ahead and was offered a twin for £60. I was asked if it would be a cash or card sale and I said I only had £50 in cash but was told there was a cash machine in the bar and that they would prefer cash. Subsequently, I discovered the... More

Very pitoresque place on the harbour wirh great atmosphere. Good restaurant and two cosy bars. Basic rooms, but you will find a telly in the interesting lounge. Visit the Loch of lilllies close by and remember to take the small Ferry to Jura to Watch the currents in the sound.

Quiet and tidy rooms, fresh seafood landed daily, a cosy bar with a good selection of whiskies and ales. Beer garden overlooking the harbour. Bar staff and owner very friendly. Surely place with character.

I stayed here as part of a group who were visiting on business. The hotel was in the most lovely location and we were very well looked after by all the staff - nothing was too much bother. Rooms are basic but I had a fantastic nights sleep followed by a substantial breakfast the next day. I would defo return.

We spontaneously decided to stay one night here after 3 nights of camping in our Land Rover in pretty rough weather with our 3 year old son. The room was not cheap but the big bathtub, good bed and stunning view across the Sound of Jura were well worth it. The setting is lovely and our son was eager to... More

The location close to the ferry terminal, and the exceptional and delicious food at this hotel were second to none. Hosts Marion and Iain Spears and their helpful, happy team make this a destination worth the visit: they couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. Both the live Scottish music in the bar and the welcoming locals will also give... More

food was excellent although not cheap (bar menu reasonable) as was view, don't mind ferry noise. Room was clean and comfortable although very dated, No tv or tel in room which is a nuisance if you have been working all day and just want to settle down in your own space. I work the length and breadth of Scotland and... More

Six of us on a cycle tour of the islands stopped off for one night. Booking had been easy over the phone and via e-mail. Facilities were fine if a little tired. Service was great in both the bar and the snug. Food was wholesome and substantial at both dinner and breakfast with lots of choice. Quiet spot. Only downside... More

Lovely location but hotel is very tired looking inside. Room was clean and tidy but very basic. Shower was no more than a trickle and was either too hot or too cold. Food was great and the hotel has a good atmosphere with very friendly staff. Overall a bit too expensive for what you get accommodation wise.

Our party of 4 stayed at the hotel for a long weekend and this was an ideal place to base ourselves. The restaurant serves great food, the seafood in particular was very enjoyable and the breakfasts were good. Iain and Marion (proprietors) are very welcoming and take the time to meet and get to know the guests, this place has... More
