Having visited this hotel with good expectations we were disappointed to find that many of the detracting statements made by previous reviewers were in fact very factual. The hotel has a great location and couldn't be more convenient for the Ferry terminal both from the mainland and also when crossing to Jura. The fabric of the hotel itself is well... More

this place is at the main entrance to the Ferry Pier at Port Askaig in Islay, Scotland. A small place, but with excellent and fast service and very friendly too! The simple food was quite tasty and served to meet the Ferry departure constraint! Best wishes to them!

We arrived early for a Saturday lunch to ensure we had a good table before passengers arrived for the afternoon ferry. Although we were given a table in the dining room, as were others, it was made clear that their were insufficient staff to cover this room as well as the bar. That said, the staff did their best -... Our room overlooked the ferry terminal and had great views over to Jura. It was a large and clean room, if slightly old fashioned and in need of a little TLC, as was the hotel in general. We enjoyed our breakfasts as there was a good range of hot choices and cereals, fruit and yoghurts too. The staff were friendly... More

Went for lunch and ordered Cullen skink. When it came out it was only just warm. I took it back and was told "it's been in the microwave". I asked for it to go back in it to which she grumpily replied "i will have to take it back to the kitchen!" Well clearly! When she returned with it she... More

Thank you Nicola for your review. I am very disappointed that any member of staff would have dealt with a customer in this way. Most of my staff have been with me for a number of years and as you may see from other reviews are generally praised for their helpfulness which makes your experience exceptional but unforgivable . I... More

I stayed here for one night in July 2015 with my husband while we were on a cycling break on Islay & Jura. I found the manager Marion an absolute delight from the off. She was friendly, helpful, and went out of her way for us. She upgraded us to a king size room which was clean & comfortable and... More

The atmosphaire is autentic and warm and wellcoming. The food is prepared by a singing chef, who Deliveres exelent, solid msals. The old Port bar is a heaven for whisky lovers. The lokal people are ekstemely friendly and the landlady and landlord males you feel right at home.
