food was excellent although not cheap (bar menu reasonable) as was view, don't mind ferry noise. Room was clean and comfortable although very dated, No tv or tel in room which is a nuisance if you have been working all day and just want to settle down in your own space. I work the length and breadth of Scotland and... More

Six of us on a cycle tour of the islands stopped off for one night. Booking had been easy over the phone and via e-mail. Facilities were fine if a little tired. Service was great in both the bar and the snug. Food was wholesome and substantial at both dinner and breakfast with lots of choice. Quiet spot. Only downside... More

Lovely location but hotel is very tired looking inside. Room was clean and tidy but very basic. Shower was no more than a trickle and was either too hot or too cold. Food was great and the hotel has a good atmosphere with very friendly staff. Overall a bit too expensive for what you get accommodation wise.

Our party of 4 stayed at the hotel for a long weekend and this was an ideal place to base ourselves. The restaurant serves great food, the seafood in particular was very enjoyable and the breakfasts were good. Iain and Marion (proprietors) are very welcoming and take the time to meet and get to know the guests, this place has... More

Really friendly atmosphere at hotel. Staff were excellent, couldn't have been more helpful. Had a lovely room overlooking the harbour. Enjoyed an evening of music in the bar on our last night. Made for a memorable first visit to Islay

After turning up for a 01:40am ferry only to be turned away due to the crew refusing to sail the staff at the Port Askaig Hotel took us in like heroes! they made sure we got a good feed and plenty to drink in their cosy bar before having a lovely quiet night's sleep in a comfortable en suite room... The Port Askaig is the most friendly of hotel I have stayed in. It has first-class staff, lovely food and excellent hospitality. The hotel full of historical character and it has the most beautiful location imaginable. We had a large and very comfortable room overlooking the picturesque harbour (The Colonsay Room) with great views of the harbour, the Sound of... More

We didn't stay in the hotel as we live on the island but celebrated our sons 18th birthday with a family dinner,we had asked for sea food to ne on the menu and it was, in abundance. And perfectly cooked, two of our party had dietary requirements and with a little for warning these were well catered for and the... More

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It was very convenient, literally you drive off the ferry into the parking lot. The hotel is old and quaint, quite dated which is okay with me. The staff were helpful and friendly. My biggest complaint is the beds and pillows were not comfortable. it seems to me if your main service is... More
