The Harbour Inn is a very nice hotel. Everything was clean, and pleasant. It is located in a very sleepy part of town, but the entire island of Islay is quiet. Alison gave us excellent customer service, and she is a true professional. Beware, dinner priced are very high, though!

We were staying here with our 4 years daughter and everything went fine. Nice rooms, friendly stuff, great breakfast , this is out best price quality stay in UK. Delicious food in restaurant and nice bar downstairs.

Stayed just one night. Very friendly and welcoming manager. Luxurious room with patio and great view over the harbour and bay. Clean and very comfortable. Staff very attentive. We were made to feel valued guests.

The Harbour Inn is in a central location on Islay and the welcome and hospitality here are great. I recently stayed here for 3 nights with my Dad and Brother and the rooms were comfortable and stylish. I had a window seat overlooking the front of the hotel and the views are lovely. I could even see the famous round... More

There are a few hotels in Islay but the Harbour Inn is by far the best in terms of location, facilities and services. The room we had did have a nice view out over the water but it was quite small for the cost made for the room (£135). Breakfast was very good in terms of choice and quality of... More

We stayed for one night at the Harbour Inn during the very busy Islay Feis Festival and the entire experience was faultless and just wonderful. From a warm Islay-style welcome to friendly serving staff, excellent, locally sourced food in the dining room which overlooks the loch to great whisky. It was an exceptional experience. Our room was perfect, we enjoyed... More

Popped in for a drink and some food. The staff providing a beer an G n T took so long, it should have prepared us for the general appalling service to follow. Menus were virtually thrown on to the table beside us! We opted for a chowder and a plate of haggis with fried egg. The chowder was poor; potato... More

We spent 3 nights at the Harbour Inn and enjoyed the experience very much. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was varied and tasty. We had room 6 which led out onto a patio with a view of the harbour and unlike a previous reviewer found it charming, but then WE did not go... More

We stayed at the Harbour Inn at the end of August and although our stay was pleasant it lacked the 'wow' factor! Our room in the Inn Over By was small for the price and the decor was fairly basic. We enjoyed the breakfast selection and afternoon tea. Evening meals were generally well cooked, but nothing special. The best meal... More

We stayed here during the whisky festival and really enjoyed it. Our room was one of the larger ones which was lovely, but there are some smaller ones without a shower (bath only). The building is old and doesn't have standard size rooms, which is part of its charm, but you should probably ask in advance for details of the... More
