Stayed at this quriky BnB with my boyfriend for sadly just one night, Fergus is very welcoming and makes sure you have everything for a comfortable stay. Bed was very comfy, and room was bright and clean. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great selection, homemade jam was tasty! Would stay here again and recommend others to do so... More

This B and B was a good location to be able to explore the island. The bathroom was a little small and with the shower and toilet right next to each other with no curtain or anything, it was a little awkward and the toilet paper got a little wet. Breakfast was fine. We didn't see the hosts much but... More

I spent a couple of nights in Apr 2013 in An Cuan. They were helpful enough to let me leave my baggage when I arrived early. Islay is a very safe place, they said, and it was really really true. The owner was absent.

I stayed two nights with at Fergus' B&B. The room was clean and well appointed (had a view of Fergus' lovely garden). Fergus has a lot of very fine art around the house and an interesting collection of trophies (were they all yours Fergus?). Fergus was an impeccable and helpful host. He also did me a personal favor when I... More

In an excellent quiet location for exploring Bowmore and Port Ellen. Rooms vary in size quite considerably, but are furnished to a very high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower room was sparkling clean and appeared brand new. The welcome and local knowledge offered by Fergus were much appreciated, as was the fact that he was willing... More

An Cuan is ok. The room we stayed in was very small. There was no space to leave a suitcase on the floor opened up. Shower and toilet is not seperated by a curtain and is very small, so when you have a shower, the whole bathroom is wet! Breakfast was absolutely simple; the breakfast room rather cold; there is... This B&B is located in the middle of the small town Bowmore. Everything is within walking distance. Our twin bed room was fine although a bit cramped. The bathroom, on the other hand, was large and had a very good shower (hot and good pressure). The walls of the rooms are thin; we could hear another guest snoring. The B&B... More

This is a comfortable B&B that feels more like staying in someone's house. The room I had was rather small but very well furnished with antique furniture and a lovely view over an extensive back garden. A nice touch was the jug of fresh milk on the hall table to go with the tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom. The couple... More

this establishment really deserves a great rating. The location is great in the center of Bowmore less than 50m down the road from the towns local pub at Bowmore Hotel. Great breakfast where they can offers you about everything including traditional full Scottish breakfast. I had told Fergus ( the host ) that I wanted a room on the front... More
