Have just returned from three nights at the Lambeth House, John and Margaret are fantastic hosts. Nothing was to much trouble, their help and hospitality went beyond the expected. Breakfast was made with good ingredients freshly cooked and plentiful. Rooms were clean warm (very warm), and well equipped. The shower was powerful and hot, probably the best shower I have... More

Stayed here overnight 18/04/15. The other comments sum up this fantastic B&B. It is better than a hotel. The service is better than first class. The rooms are spotless, the shower fantastic. Breakfast was excellent. If you are intending visiting Islay this is the place to stay.

Absolutely fantastic b&b . Highly recommended. Very comfortable beds, spacious rooms, smart up-to date decor, brilliant powerful shower, quiet. Brilliant breakfast can recommend the salmon and scrambled egg. Don't know what else to say. Better than a hotel. Can't fault it at all.

Arrived home yesterday after a wonderful 3 nights on Islay and staying with Margaret and John at Lambeth Guest House. What can I say, everything was perfect - the room, the services, breakfast choices and most of all, Margaret's many entertaining anecdotes! We loved every minute. The B&B is in the perfect central location for seeing Islay; ample parking space;... More

Lovely room, lovely breakfast, good for solo traveller. Friendly. Not much more need to say but I need 200 characters. Easy to park, handy for town. Nice communal breakfast table. Give it a try, much better value than the bowmore hotel.

We stayed here for two nights in some awful Islay weather, and Margaret made us feel as welcome as if it was our own home. Fantastic options for breakfast if you ask for a few cheeky extras, and an amazing welcome every time we entered the door. Cozy bedrooms, great shower and bathroom.

we stayed with Margaret for three nights on a whisky visit. A lovely couple, Margaret the quiet one and John doing most of the talking (I jest Margaret !!). Nothing is to much trouble, they know everything and everyone on the island and given they have been doing this for nearly 30 years, their enthusiasm is still infectious. Top recommendation.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here end of September. Lambeth House is in Bowmore which is a very centrally located town in which to easily see all of Islay. It is in town so we walked to restaurants, etc.. Margaret & John were very helpful with local information. The bedroom and bathroom had every amenity and a lovely,... More
