Stayed over after attending a wedding. Beautiful place, really lovely. Our room was fantastic. Family room/snug. Had children with us and they also loved it. Food that we had was very nice. Found the staff very cheerful and helpful, and I liked how they weren't stuffy with guests. Very welcoming and happy atmosphere. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would... More

Just back from a magical weekend at Culcreuch Castle where we celebrated our Son's marriage to our lovely new daughter-in-law. We stayed for the full weekend in one of the lodges on the estate. The lodge was comfortable and very well equipped. The setting of the castle and lodges is breathtaking making it a perfect location for a romantic Scottish... More

I stayed here with my son & his family, at the end of our tour of Scotland. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the estate, and the good food in the dungeon dining room. We had the "haunted" rooms--the Keep and the Chinese Bird room, but I think my toddler granddaughter scared the ghost away. (She had very loud comments about... More

I recently attended a wedding in the castle and what a lovely day it was. The castle and grounds are beautiful having the weather obviously helped. We were met with a warm welcome at reception and given directions to our room the family snug which had a double bed a really tiny room off that with bunk beds and a... More

Had a great stay here on the 15th April, upgraded to the honeymoon suite, you have to climb a lot of stairs but it was well worth it. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was fantastic. Just two points against it was they only had smirnoff vodka in the bar would have like if they could have offered something... More

I stayed at this hotel during a 9-day driving tour of Scotland, choosing this as a base of operation for the Loch Lomond area. My choice of hotels was based off of comments here as well as a write-up in the (usually reliable) Fodor's guide. My disappointment started to creep in while driving there, as I realized the location was... More

What a shame that you could not bring yourself to tell me this in person the morning you left a day early as a family matter had arisen. We took you at your word and did not charge any cancellation fee only to be rewarded by a damning report on this site. Yes the waiter did make a mistake with... More

This is just the place if you want away from it all. Very old building so don't expect too much as they have done a good job with what they have. We stayed in the bird room nice big room old furniture and plenty character. There was a wedding on when we were there and to be honest we never... More

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite during our Christmas tour of Scotland in December 2013 and the slightly higher cost for this room was well worth it. The room is beautifully appointed with views across the lake to the hills (which were covered in a light dusting of snow) beyond. The bathroom is large and has a good size bath,... More

Enjoyed a lovely break at this wonderful castle. Room very comfortable and every room is individually named. One room has wallpaper 300years old. The original part of the castle is 11-12th century and incredibly atmospheric. The owners have managed to retain the original features but with up to date facilities. Food very good, would recommend. The grounds are extensive and... More
