We've been here before and found the quality of food poor. The hotel is comfortable and has recently been taken over so decided to give it another go,,,, BIG mistake. Service was slow, despite it being almost empty and the food , while hot and well presented , seemed to be of microwave quality. On a positive note the coffee... More

Popped in for a bit of lunch with my parents this afternoon and was greeted by a lovely member of staff behind the bar! She showed us to a table in the restaurant and continued to provide the most pleasant and friendly service I have ever experienced. Big thanks to her!! The rest of the staff were all lovely and... I've been staying here for some years now on and off. There is always a friendly welcome and a decent beer on tap although a tad pricey given it's next to a cracking brewery pub. Another change of hands and there seems to be less and less on offer, but a comfortable and friendly place to stay.

Staff were very helpful and friendly but our stay was spoiled by a catalogue of disasters. On arrival we were given the key for a room which was already occupied. Although we had a room for disabled guests the lift was broken and my husband had to struggle up the stairs. When leaving the card machines were broken and I... More

Quaint old Hotel, big rooms and good location. The drinks were served in nice heavy crystal glasses, which does add to the experience. The suite was big, a nice shower and cool seating area with big TV.

We booked in for a B&B stay with afternoon tea using a voucher deal and it was great value for money. Afternoon tea was delicious, very generous and came with a bottle of Prosecco, which we decided to keep for later - although when we asked for it later they had actually run out of Prosecco and we ended up... Popped in for a cup of tea and a scone and was tempted by the afternoon tea. It was really lovely with freshly cut sandwiches with 3 fillings, beautiful scones and a lemon tart to die for. The staff were very friendly and even looked after my little dog at reception while we were sitting. There was so much on... More

We arrived for afternoon tea, greeted with smiles and served promptly despite their being an arts festival on in the hotel at the time and it understandably being a hive of activity. Afternoon tea itself was fresh and lovely and we requested the accompanying bottle of prosecco taken to our room, which was no problem at all. Our room, whilst... More
