My husband and I stayed at the Royal Hotel for one night as we had a Christmas night out in the hotel. Our room was really nice (I think we had a refurbished room). Water in bathroom runs brown so needs to be ran for a while to clear it. Breakfast was the usual buffet breakfast and staff were friendly.

My fiancée and I went away for a new year break, the hotel was clean, comfortable and had friendly staff only problems we found were the shower pressure was awful and the water in the bath was brown... Hotel said this was due to their renovation work and were looking into it!! I trust this should be rectified soon and the hotel... More

Just returned from the royal hotel after a 2 night stay for the hogmany ball and new years day we would like to thank Mr Gordon Anthony and his wonderful staff for a fantastic night which kicked off with a pipe band and champagne reception followed by an excellent 6 course meal presented impeccably then we had a solo singer... Do not stay here unless you are used to staying in a damp, mould infested house! We checked my in-laws in yesterday for one night. Horrific is the only word to describe both rooms they were put into. The first was damp, mouldy with filthy bed linen. The second was slightly cleaner, but cold, damp and it appeared that a... More

I have visited this hotel several times over the years and have enjoyed some very good meals. Unfortunately my most recent visit was disappointing. Since there was a function in the main dining room the bar was laid out with tables. The first problem was with the seat which was badly in need of reupholstering. We were shown to a... More

Christmas Party/Overnight Stay. In total 11 couples spent the night in this hotel, myself included. Faulty Towers comes to mind. In fairness it's in the middle of being refurbished but there are so many faults with this establishment but all fairly minor, except for the brown water which was running from the hot water tap in the bath and hand... I usually dread a Christmas party nights with the noise and and the standard of food seeming to drop when there is a large crowd to cater for. Not so the recently refurbished Royal hotel Bridge of Allan. The menu offered a really good choice of fresh food, the starter and pudding being served to you. The main course was... More

I made a list of how bad this was. Let's start with the noise it was like a night club in our room we could hear the party below and the people outside smoking. There wasn't a single towel bar. The water from the tap was yellowish orange and by the way no bottled water was provided so brush your... More
