I stayed at The Royal Hotel for one night on business at the start of June. The receptionist was vert friendly on arrival and reserved me a table for dinner at a time which suited me and also kindly booked me a taxi for the following morning. The food in the main restaurant is very good with a great selection... More

The hotel looks as though it is in need of modernisation or refurbishment. The dining room ceiling covings were ‘cracked’ in some parts and the room just looked so ‘tired’ However, a very cheerful and helpful Thai waitress made up for the rooms refurbishment needs. The waitress attended to us very professionally and the Afternoon Tea itself was of a... More

This hotel is well maintained outside and inside, despite being old. It's style is maintained with nice character. When you drive into the car park you are impressed with the location and cleanliness of grounds. The reception area is old but nice, the man on reception was very charming and helpful. We booked this hotel on an Amazon Local deal,... More

We decided to take up a groupon offer of a one night stay with dinner, bubbly and breakfast. The room (15) and bathroom were a bit small and the room was in need of a lick of paint but was comfortable enough. The dining experience was first class. The room itself was big with plenty of light. There was plenty... More

Bridge of Allan is lovely and driving into the car park I had high hopes, in fact I thought I'd got a bargain. However checked in and realised this hotel is a mixture of old fittings, (some good, most not) and tarted up bits. The bar looked like an eighties wine bar, it was awful, the service was soooo slow.... More

Stayed at the Royal Hotel for 2 nights at the weekend, on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal. Noticed some rather negative reviews before we booked, but chose to ignore them. And we're so glad we did! Received a very warm friendly welcome from Peter, the General Manager, and got checked into our room earlier than expected. Room 33 on... More

Bridge of Allan is typical small Scottish town with bags of history & character, as to does the Royal Hotel. Situated on the main road running through the town it is well placed for both amenities and easily accessable. With ample off road parking,a decent restaurant, free wifi, and good sized rooms the hotel ticks all the boxes. Pleasant staff, clean... More

Gruesome stay , which included hotel removing our possesions from the room and taking to partner hotel due to "operational reasons". Payment in advance meant no room for negotiation. Cannot express well enough the poor state of hotel, surly staff, urgent repairs needed to structure. We are taking action to recover monies. AVOID.

We got a great deal for 2 nights DBB and I have to say that we had a really good time. The food was fantastic and the portions extremely generous. The staff very friendly and efficient and our room was clean and comfortable but we were a bit disappointed with the bathroom. The hotel seemed to be going through a... More
