Stayed here for 1 night, which was more than enough. On arrival the receptionist said I have given you a better room. Great we thought. On entering room 14 after travelling the stained carpet hallways, the first thing that hit me was the smell of must. I would hate to see the not so good rooms. As only they’re for... more

Don't stay here unless you like saggy beds, paper thin walls and a 5 minute walk in pouring rain to get a drink from the bar. After a 5 hour drive we arrived at the hotel only to be told that we were in the lodge which was 5 minutes down the road. The rooms looked OK but we could... more

My partner and I attended a wedding there last week and decided to stay over to make a weekend out of it! The whole day was excellent with the service in the hotel and then our first class meal followed by the evening reception....even Scotland managed three points as well! The function rooms downstairs and upstairs have been refurbished along... more

Our room was damp, mildew on curtains, poor lighting, no mattress protectors on bed staff unfriendly and not many of them, breakfast yuk! and table missing sideplates, napkins, menu. The hotel is in need of a refit. more

To arrive by train, I was delighted that the Hotel was only a few minutes from the train station. The staff were fantastic and as a single female traveller made me feel very 'at home'. They tell me that the Hotel has undergone some refurbishments incluging the Bar, which I found to be comfortable, clean and relaxing. The food couldn't... more

Ripp off prices for inadequate squeaky floored grime covered carpet, single bedded room with shower connected with no cold water supply!! Perhaps that's why the waiter stank! No kettle in room - plenty of stains to suggest that there had been one. Advert on the web suggested satellite TV - mine looked like it had been thrown out of a... more

We arrived here at about 10 to 11 after an appalling journey, just in time to have a drink at the bar. The actual bar is not very nice, looks like a rather nasty sports bar type place and a very limited selection of drinks, but we had a G&T and sat in a pleasant little room with a real... more

we booked a double room for a night for a night off from the kids, got to the hotel-staff were nice and the overall impression of the hotel was good, looked quite grand in the reception rooms etc but our room was not to a good standard at all. The bedsheets were ripped and there was a pane of glass... more

The staff here are really friendly, and the food in the restaurant was nice. However, the rooms really need some serious updating: uneven floors, leaky showers and damp bed took the shine off my stay. more
