We really wanted to like our stay essentially because the staff were excellent (with one exception), however we booked into a family room which turned out to be on the side of the hotel beside the main road with the noisiest floor boards I have ever encountered. The room just isnt big enough for a family of three never mind... More

With our dogs, but the recent management change has banned dogs from anywhere in the hotel, so when we intended to visit again, fortunately we checked before setting out. Went somewhere else instead. Pity.

Was sitting at my workPC on a Friday afternoon when a Classic Britain Flash Sale came through for a DBB rate....Within the hour we had checked in. On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant receptionist who was obviously under pressure because of the aforementioned deal but remained proffesional & pleasant. This set the tone for our complete 18 hour... More

Firstly the staff here are very pleasant especially at Breakfast. On arrival at reception there was no real information about leisure facilities. The family room is OK, bed settee a bit on the small side for 2 children, room is big enough. Reception and bar area very welcoming with 3 large fire places. Breakfast was OK, buffet style plenty of... More

We got a deal through hotel connexions on this and booked at the last minute as a bed and breakfast deal. The common parts of the hotel are pretty well maintained with a friendly, reasonably well stocked bar and reception was friendly and helpful. The room we had was probably standard 'deal' room, in that the view was pretty woeful.... More

This was our second visit for lunch and we were not let down. Despite being a busy hotel for functions the restaeraunt was still very customer focussed for non-residents. Another great quality meal. Lovely friendly waiting staff.

Just returned home from a lovely overnight stay at the popinjay, seen a decent offer on a comparison site, so took advantage of the offer, it was a mixture of a romantic night & a mothers day present from our kids wrapped into 1. We arrived in the afternoon to lovely reception staff, of which they did put us into... More
