What a beautiful area to have a retreat! Private, little getaway with all the amenities of home! I love this place so much- I cannot wait to go back! The breakfasts that are served to you every morning are worth the trip alone! I would recommend this to any couple for a romantic time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Butterfly Gap Retreat. The proprietors were warm and welcoming, the grounds are lovely and the cabins are the perfect modern counterpoint to the rustic surroundings. The cabin had wonderful amenities including a spa quality shower, air-jet tub, vaulted ceilings, comfortable furniture and a screened-in porch with a day bed for afternoon naps. Cookies were... More

My husband and I stayed at BG in early August. This little gem is tucked away in TN... away from the chaos of daily life. We stayed in cottage 308... which was PERFECT. The cottage has everything you need... to never have to leave. Right down to gourmet breakfast delivered to your door step each morning (which was enough food... More

This place was so wonderful that we hadn't left yet and we were already trying to figure out when we could come back. It was a great place to get away from our busy lives and just enjoy each other. The icing on the cake was the wonderful family that owns it and the AMAZING breakfast brought to you every... More

My husband and I LOVED every minute of our stay at BF Gap! We had a few days to get away from our three little ones and wanted a quiet, tranquil retreat to reconnect. BF Gap was ideal! The grounds are beautiful- from the scenic overlook where we watched the sunset to the hiking trails to the view of the... More

We stayed last weekend at Butterfly Gap and were so surprised at the beauty and serenity that Butterfly offers it guests. This is a great place for couples to reconnect and get away from the outside world. We stayed in cabin 308 which is secluded and tucked away in the woods. The hosts ( Becky, Mike, Laura, Ryan and Mandy)... More

I was a guest at a wedding and the family that owned the Butterfly Gap was present at the event. The family was rude and stood in the corner with the DJ making fun of some of the wedding guests. They were also spotted helping themselves to the left over food from the wedding reception, wrapping the leftovers up and... More

This place was amazing. Becky, Mike, Laura and her husband made our visit perfect. It is definitely not your average "cabin" stay in the mountains. Each cottage is unique and the breakfast they serve each morning to your door is FANTASTIC! The creek, the evening sunsets everything about the place is relaxing. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and... More

My husband and I never took a honeymoon because he was deployed right after we got married. We decided to stay at the Butterfly Gap Retreat and absolutely loved it! Our guest house was very contemporary and well decorated! It's family run retreat, but they were very professional and down to earth. We felt like we were the only people... More

We had the pleasure of staying at Butterfly Gap Retreat November 19-22. We had seen the article in Southern Living magazine and checked out the website. All I can say is that the retreat is far better than the pictures and they are fantastic! Becky and her family are wonderful hosts and cooks! The guesthouses are beautiful! The grounds offer... More
