My boyfriend and I had heard about Buttefly Gap from a close friend and were super excited for a weekend getaway. After some trip advisor research, we were confident that we were in for a great relaxing few days away. The drive over from Nashville is beautiful, even in February. The directions were easy to follow and we arrived right... More

My husband and I were in desperate need of a weekend away to celebrate the arrival of our first child. Butterfly gap is such a gem. Nestled in the backcountry of Tennessee on 100 acres complete with a beautiful lake, fantastic overlook and amazing "cabins". We stayed in cottage 320 and it was perfect. The bed, the tub, the shower...all... More

My wife read about Butterfly Gap when it was featured in Southern Living in 2009, and we've wanted to go ever since. Once our schedules finally allowed it, we jumped at the chance and are so glad we did. If you go, take some groceries for your lunch and dinner — the staff makes and delivers an awesome breakfast —... More

Butterfly Gap was all we could have asked for in a peaceful retreat. The cabin was comfortable and lovely. Sitting on the patio, listening to the creek, I found myself truly relaxed for the first time in a long time. The bed was outrageously comfortable, and breakfast was a feast. My husband and I stayed on site for the two... More

I would defineatly reccomend Butterfly Gap if you are wanting to get away from it all! The owners are very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was some of the Best I have ever had, served daily with a smile to your house. The house we stayed in was clean and accomodating. This trip exceeded our expectations!

This lovely retreat is just what the name implies. You are away from everyday life. if you like the woods and amazing views but camping is just not for you, then this is the place to stay. These are not your typical cabins - they are little cottages set in the most beautiful of areas. Once you meet your host... More

My wife read about Butterfly gap in Southern Living magazine and was intrigued. So we made reservations when the kids were gone to camp so we could have some quality time together. Its a hoot driving out to the resort. the roads are curvy and dip up and down but we had a ball driving to it. If you're on... More

My husband and I got married at Butterfly Gap in 2009 and the only sad part about the experience was having to leave! The family was so good to us, and the property is absolutely gorgeous. They are totally hospitable, welcoming, and professional. They work hard to keep the property up, and make sure the guests are taken care of.... More

My husband and I traveled to BGR for a mini-moon right after our wedding. It was perfect! Except for the pleasant and large breakfasts that the staff delivered in the mornings, we thought we might be there by ourselves. The houses are so modern and unusual but are set in the middle of the woods. It is very accessible from... More

What a beautiful area to have a retreat! Private, little getaway with all the amenities of home! I love this place so much- I cannot wait to go back! The breakfasts that are served to you every morning are worth the trip alone! I would recommend this to any couple for a romantic time.
