Room (12) was comfortable and a good size with TV.tea and coffee facilities The meals breakfast and evening dinner were very good with an excellent choice on menu. The views from the dining room windows down onto the Maidens Bay was outstanding. If you want a peaceful... A three star hotel that does not over promise and has won us over as a result. Connected to a care home might seem like an odd set up for a hotel - but it works. The food is plentiful and fresh. The staff is lovely and the rooms comfortable. It is not posh - just very comfortable. The view... More

We Stayed in the Ailsa suite which was spotless spacious and had great views. The food in the restaurant was very good as was the choice. Part used as care home but don't let that put you off. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here on a business trip, the room was very nice, clean and surprisingly modern. Breakfast was rather good, I particularly recommend the haggis, tis to die for. Only bad thing I have to say was the bar was deserted at night, but it's to be expected and not the hotels fault. I would definitely stay here again

Didn't realise this hotel was predominantly a care home til after we booked and this did make us a little apprehensive , however on arrival the staff were very friendly and our room was large and spacious (we booked a suite) The place was spotless and yes the bathroom did have a sort of clinically clean smell, but rather have... We were celebrating a birthday and decided to stop overnight at the hotel. From the welcoming at reception all the staff were wonderful and straight away set the scene for a pleasant stay. All the staff we spoke to were more than "just" helpful and took a genuine interest. The evening meal was perfect. Very comfortable seats added to the... More

The title of this may be a bit confusing , but let me explain. We booked this hotel for a romantic night away, through Booking .com . There was no mention that this hotel is , to us, primarily a care home, where the residents share the same facilities as hotel, guests.Once we saw some other reviews, we decided there... More

We stayed at this hotel at the end of January, during a very windy weekend. We arrived reasonably late on a Friday, and were very impressed that they knew who we were. The room was spacious, and very elegant. The hotel has a very wood orientated 70s look. It was very clean and easily of the quality you would expect... More

My husband booked the Ailsa suite for a end of January break to cheer us up. At the time he wasn't aware this hotel also had a nursing home onsite. I discovered this in Tripadvisor and checked the Booking Scotland website but didn't see any mention of this so maybe it's not too clearly advertised. However other than being aware... More
