We stayed for our anniversary in the Ailsa Suite. We arrived before check in, so we spent the morning exploring the grounds around this castle. The walled garden is spectacular, and if you are adventurous, do the cliff hike and head down to explore the caves. Bring good walking shoes. At check in, we were greeted by our host Michael,... more

Imagine a romantic castle perched on a clifftop with views out over the scottish isles. Throw in total silence except for the gentle noise of the waves lapping on the shore below when you open your window. Add staff that are sooooooooo friendly you want to take them home, stir in some historic atmosphere and you really have a perfect... more

Although I am an American, I have been a member of the The National Trust for Scotland for several years and I love this National Landmark! Culzean Castle prides itself on hospitality and the staff will make EVERY effort to ensure that you feel and ARE comfortable. Several times we rolled into the Castle pretty bedraggled after walks in the... more

This was my second trip (with friends) to Culzean, the first being in 2005. At that time the service was nonexistent--they basically threw us the key (not keys plural--for 5 people) and said, 'here's the place, see you in the morning'. The attitude of the staff the next day was off-putting to me. Guess I'm too much of a "Yank"... more

This was our second stay at Castle Culzean. Althoug we enjoyed our first brief stay, so much has changed in the atmosphere of the Castle that made this 2 night stay even more memorable than the first!!! The first change was the charming and entertaining personalities of Fi and Michael. Fi had handled our arrangements and greeted us when we... more

Stayed one Saturday night in the 'Cairncross' room, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This room is one of six bedrooms in the Eisenhower apartment on the top floor of Culzean Castle. The room itself was a little small and dark for such a lovely house, however it was cosy and the public areas more than made up for this. What... more

My husband and I stayed at Culzean Castle for one night as part of a belated honeymoon trip to Scotland. Culzean Castle is a beautiful castle right on the ocean with amazing views and amazing grounds. We really enjoyed our walk all around - there are beautiful buildings, gardens and paths down by the water, with beautiful vistas as well.... more

My husband and I spent one night at Culzean Castle and it was a most wonderful experience. The situation of this castle is fantastic. This is not like a hotel, but goes much further in the personal touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You have access to the top floor of the castle which includes the amazing drawing... more

Have stayed here twice and a pleasure every time. The food wasn't great the first time but fabulous the second. The company was good the first but the second it was a group of Russians who didn't speak even though we tried to engage in polite conversation; but you can't help the guests. Definately stay there again perhaps in summer... more
