If you are in the area or only passing through either on the way to or from the ferry. Please make time to stop at this little gem. A warm welcome awaits everyone and the home made food with everything so fresh is outstanding. A hidden gem:-)

Tried this place for a evening meal on recommendation from a local couple who said the portions were large and the prices reasonable, they were not wrong. All portions in our party of four were enormous and beautifully cooked, from steak and ale pie to chicken pasta.Good food, try it!!

Stayed here on the way from Glasgow to Dublin in October this year, before return to Germany. The hotel was brilliant, owner and family very friendly. Very good service. The bar, in which we ate our excellent evening meal, was atmospheric and we easily got chatting to the staff and clientele. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The attention to... More

Stopped off here in our motorhome. Good choice on the menu and the food was plentiful, well cooked and very tasty. Very helpful staff. Howling weather outside but cosy in the bar area. Noticed a beer garden at the back which would be nice during warmer weather. Handy location for ferry to Ireland.

visited for drinks, lunch and dinner, different days of the same week. A good friendly welcome for dogs and the humans. we visited at various times of the day and were always looked after. Service was great and friendly. We enjoyed the food - large portions and the fillet steak whilst expensive was wonderfully tasty and properly cooked. A very... More

We stopped off here for lunch on our way to Portpatrick from Glasgow. There was a great-sized beer garden for our collie to have a run-around without feeling she was disturbing anyone. The bar meals were great and the staff really friendly. A good jukebox and banter with the locals at the bar rounded off an excellent travel break -... More

Went here with a family group of six for an evening meal. The hotel was busy and seemed popular. Waited over an hour before our order was taken which would have been OK if nice food - but alas no , very mediocre bar type food with only one of our party satisfied. Seems they go for quantity not quality... More

Stayed here for one night whilst walking the Ayrshire Coastal Path. Not the cheapest for what was basically a BnB with a bar attached. The room was quite small and had a minuscule TV perched high where a wall meets the ceiling, it was so far away from the bed area you could hardly make anything out on the screen.... More

Living near this great little inn, I frequent it for meals pretty often. All their food is freshly prepared and while it may take a little longer than fast food, it is well worth the wait. The burgers are perfectly seasoned, the mac and cheese is wonderful and believe it or not, the cajun chicken ceasar salad is really good... More
