Surely the largest hotel room we have ever stayed in - with a bathroom to complement it, and all in a standard room. Beautifully appointed throughout. An excellent restaurant, well-trained staff and the food, whilst not exactly gourmet, was well presented and tasty. Good wine list, lovely lounge and log fire. a very comfortable place to stay. Internet diabolically poor!... More

I love Lochgreen and have eaten many a good meal here and also have had a wonderful afternoon tea but this time was a huge disappointment. We had booked the festive musical afternoon tea to celebrate a relatives birthday. Arrived and shown to function room, previously afternoon tea had been served in a small lounge. The only thing festive was... More

Was here for a 3 day conference with work. Conference facilities ok but seats uncomfortable and the a/v equipment dated. However everything else about the hotel is fantastic. Large, high spec rooms, beautiful public areas and bars and the food is divine. Dinner some of the best dishes I have ever tasted.

My wife and I stayed at the Lochgreen House Hotel for one of the Festive Party nights. This was excellent. The music played by Angelo and Paulo was really good and would have suited lots of people as they were able to play all different types of music. They even played some requests which was great. As usual the food... More

For a 5 star hotel it is a very disappointing experience! The surroundings are very elegant but the food and attention to detail lets it down. If you have dietary requirements forget it! Despite informing the Lounge manager on booking and on the day, it still did not happen. For me also, afternoon tea should consist of small pastries and... More

we are just home from celebrating a wedding held at lochgreen on Saturday. The hotel setting is lovely with views to the beach and sea. our room was huge , lovely and warm and very clean and quiet. The only noise was from the wind on a blustery night. The wedding breakfast was lovely , and breakfast the next morning... More

We arrived on a very wet cold & windy afternoon. We had to sit in the car waiting for a squall to blow through. We fought our way to the door and then past the "day trippers". Reception staff & log fire thawed us. Our room was huge and warm though the large bathroom could have done with a larger... More

The house was built for a gentleman in 1904. The owners, Bill and Catch Costley have kept The period features. Perhaps the most famous owner was Group Captain McIntyre. He flew a single engined plane with an open cockpit over mount Everest in the 1930s. A Scot beat the English man Hillary by 20 years. The food is every bit... More

This restaurant/hotel is only about fifteen miles from our home so we are unable to comment on the rooms etc., We tend to go for 'celebration meals' i.e. birthdays and pre-Christmas lunches (generally) the food is wonderful and the service second to none. I did have one meal that I didn't particularly enjoy but that was because a 'loathe' onions... More

this is an edwardian countryhouse with sympathetic modern extensions located within a short driving distance from several attractions. Room 28, though with not much of a view, was enormous, the size of some suites, and indeed might have benefited from the introduction of a sofa to add to the two armchairs. Bathroom also was large with separate shower and claw... More
