We got a good groupon deal and stayed for two nights. On arrival we were slightly concerned that two fire doors in the reception area were propped open. (They remained so throughout our whole stay) on entering our room it was very tired looking and in need of redecorating, the plug socket near the bed was very lose, the heated... More

Rooms are out of date and bath was lethal. No shower mat or shelving to put your stuff on. Room 3. The bed was nearly on the floor with springs sticking out and it sloped downwards. I nearly slid off. Food is not up to standard. It is just a pub.

After purchasing a Groupon deal my partner and I spent two nights here with a free meal, two drinks for free on the first night and breakfast both days. Despite what people have written I can't fault this hotel yes it is a little worn but they certainly make up for it with the beautiful view from the room, the... More

Stayed her for 1 night hotel is ideally located , we had room with a nice view but to be honest the room was in need of an upgrade and if that was done it would be excellent. It wouldn't take much and it would make the stay much more enjoyable. In saying that had a good sleep but deffo... More

Where do I start with this...hotel is a bit run down..holes in hotel that needs fixed..not water tight..heating in room would not turn off..window broken on top floor so landing was wet..bar and food is the only thing that kept this from being really poor review

We popped in after biking the costal route 7 from Ayr. Staff were very friendly but not nosey, loved the decor inside with the boat bars. Music channel playing was great and at a good volume, so could enjoy the songs and have conversation. As regulars came in they were greeted by name which we thought was great, another telltale... Dropped in for a drink. The bar was almost empty and lacking in atmosphere. The bar could do with a facelift. The welcome was functional but not great. Drink was reasonably priced. There is nothing wrong with this pub but there is nothing which makes it an more than average. There are many better pubs in Troon.

What a great place for lunch! Very friendly and attentive staff make sure that you're welcomed in and served (at table) as quickly as possible. The food arrived promptly and it was excellent - huge portions and all very well prepared. My tiny criticism would be that there was no pickle on my Ploughman's, but that's not even worthy of...
