I recently stayed at Sandhill House for 2 nights having driven from London. Turning into the drive at Sandhill House I was greeted by a glorious splash of colour as all the daffodils were out. Opposite the car park there was a fenced area with Llama's,shetland ponies, geese, chickens and horses. The views over the Clyde estuary were breathtakingly beautiful.... More

We were visiting family and found this little B&B on the internet, and wow, what a find! The rooms are more like "suites" and Elaine explained that all the rooms were fairly big being an old house. The en-suite was clean and well decorated in character with the old house. Elaine couldn't have been any more welcoming, a lovely lady,... More

We were going to stay in the Royal Marine in Troon but after a mix up with the booking we phoned round some b&b's and found this gem of a place. So glad we did. We absolutely loved the place and were so pleased with everything. House full of character and beautiful features, very comfortable, gorgeous views and grounds. Smashing... More

Just back after staying one night here. We booked very last minute but Elaine, the mistress of the house couldn't have been nicer. The rooms were spotless as was our en-suite bathroom. There was a lovely lounge which was very elegant with a big open log fire. We felt so comfortable and at home during our short stay. The bed... More

We've visited this guest house now for ten years and still love our visits. The owners are so welcoming and make your stay relaxed and even more enjoyable. This place is such a gem in Ayrshire and if you're looking for a getaway or even somewhere to stay before or after flying from prestwick airport it's ideal. The rooms are... More

We couldn't have chosen a more picturesque, wonderful guest house. Situated right in Royal Troon golf course, a working farm, and absolutely charming hosts. We even stayed in the 'master bedroom' built and decorated for the dowager mother of the Duke! Incredible furnishings!

I don't know when I have had such a spacious bedroom - outside a truly grand hotel - as that provided by Sandhill House. Stylishly furbished in black and white, with its own dining and sitting area, and with fabulous views over the gardens and Royal Troon Golf Course beyond, it provided a most comfortable place to stay for our... Loved our peaceful stay at Sandhill house. Elaine was so pleasant and easy going. The property is amazing...large rolling pastures, views out to the sea, island and Troon golf course. The manor house is very large..nice little sitting room for guests. Our suite was huge! Like a small apartment, with a futon and tables. The kingsize bed was comfortable. Our... More

If Mary and I are heading towards some of the inner islands -- Arran, Gigha, Islay, and Jura -- and we need a terrific place for getting rid of jet lag on our first day in Scotland, Sandhill House B&B is where we go for a one night stopover. Elaine, our host, leads us to our room, chats for a... More

We stayed for two nights and were bowled over by the amazing property, host, breakfast and value. I couldn't recommend this place enough! Host was clearly very passionate about service which showed through every aspect of our stay. Can't wait to come back!
