Great welcome. Clean and comfortable. Great service. Fantastic food with fresh dishes prepared by professionally trained chef. Superb breakfast. Good location. Barn supermarket next door for all our provision needs with post office for cash. Thanks for accommodating us.

I really don't like being this negative but for £70/night you really do expect something more than Pinewood had to offer. The room was dusty (quite alot), the towels weren't freshly cleaned, there was no waste bin nor toilet brush or small towels, nor soap. The couple who has the B&B seems occupied by their full-time jobs, which is obvious... More

We visited the Pinewood House B&B in August 2012 (I am not able to select any dates before April 2013). My partner and I were on a cycle holiday on Shetland and made our way up North to the Isle of Yell. Because we were on the bikes we didn't know how far we would manage to travel so we... More

I stayed here for 6 weeks over the summer as I was doing a placement on the Island of Yell. I honestly can't say enough good things about the time I had here. The location was absolutely stunning, with amazing scenery and wildlife right at the front door, with picturesque tranquillity all around. Peter and Rachel were so friendly, helpful... More

Not so much a Bed and Breakfast that will feed you, more a chef with rooms attached. The rooms are excellent, those at the front with an extraordinary view. Extremely clean, with wood floors and welcoming beds and no trouble too great for the hosts. It's also handily adjacent to the most amazing general store you will ever visit!, but... More

My room was large and well furnished with a great view. Guests have use of a very large comfortable lounge, which was most welcome. An evening meal was available, given the lack of amenities on Yell and the remoteness of Aywick this was more than welcome. Three courses including wine or beer and tea or coffee, well prepared and very... More

Traveling to Shetland for the first time on a 6 week business trip could seem rather daunting. However, with the welcome I received from Rachel and Pete it was anything but. They made sure I was comfortable and well looked after, they went out of their way to ensure the stay was a happy and memorable one, even managing to... More

We stayed at Pinewood House as this was our very first visit to Shetland. Yell was recommended by a friend who visited Yell a few years ago so my wife and I decided to give it a try. I must say I wasn't disappointed in any way. Our hosts Peter and Rachel were most welcoming and Peter was a brilliant... More

We cycled from the north to the south of the Shetlands but had the same experience of Pinewood as the last reviewer. Peter and his family were very friendly and helpful, providing excellent food, and we also found the proximity to the shop a benefit. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Pinewood House on our cycling trip which started at the bottomof the Orkneys and ended at the tip of Shetland. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay here more. The host, Peter, was very welcoming and cooked us the most delicious dinner and breakfast the next day. The front room we stayed in had a wonderful view and... More
