A disappointment... My room was tiny - this is Shetland, for goodness sake, they're hardly short of space. And noisy - I was always woken up before 6am by staff clattering around. Yes, the restaurant food (as distinct from the bar food) is lovely, but you have to book it before 5pm - ridiculous, especially considering that it's almost empty.... more

The room was neat and clean. The staff were aloof and the food in the resturant was terrible. If you are visiting Shetland. FInd somewhere else to stay. more

If you want to relax eat good food, enjoy a drink served by people who enjoy serving you, this is the place. Be warned - you end up being too relaxed to bother doing anything! more

If you like comfort, friendly and professional service, and excellent food, please get yourself to the Herrislea. I've been to the UK several times, and this by far is my favorite. The location is convenient to all visitor attractions in the Shetlands, an added value. Only someone with impossible standards could find this place unattractive, and I wouldn't wish him... more
