Recently attended a wedding at this hotel. The staff were more than helpful with the preparations and decoration. The setting is stunning with a walled garden and views of the sea and hills. The meal was delicious and generous. I look forward to staying there on my next trop north.

a hotel full of history and character. I've read the history of Busta hotel and glad to see some of the original features of it's history are still there. First impression is that the hotel is outdated, rooms small needs redecorating, bed covers bit old . Nevertheless, the hotel, bedroom and the whole stay is so relaxing, had a very good... More

We stayed for 1 night for dinner bed and breakfast. The dinner was excellent a very good menu. Then on to the Long Room for after dinner coffee and drinks. So very relaxing where you can meet other guests or just read a book from there collection of books. The Linga Room was our bedroom with a beautiful four poster... More

Varied menu due to daily specials. Seven of us dining. Lounge was busy and warm with relaxed atmosphere. We were served by excellent staff who were friendly. Food was excellent with steaks and scallops to perfection. Fish, pork and lasagne also cooked very well. Wide range of wines and huge range of whiskeys.

It depends on what you want. We stayed here for 2 nights and used it as a base to explore Shetland. The staff were wonderful, the manager is very accommodating. Yes its a bit remote, but isnt everything in Shetland. It was exactly what we wanted. The view from our room was lovely, the whole place is a bit olde... More

We stayed 2 nights and the Busta House suited our purpose well. We wanted to explore Unst which is 2 ferry rides away and the hotel location a half hour north of Lerwick effectively gave us some extra time, while still being close enough to Lerwick and 'civilization'. (There isn't much near the hotel.) The property seems to be one... More

Busta House provides an excellent holiday location for guests with a car who wish to explore Mainland Shetland. Distances are not great to travel anywhere on the mainland. Alternatively there are wonderful views around the area and so much walking could be done in the Brae area from Busta House. The delicious four course dinner was a delight in a... More

We stayed for 5 nights in early July in the Papa Stour room. To be honest our stay didn't start well with half-a-dozen loud, drunk (presumably) oil workers 'occupying' the garden, shouting and breaking glasses - not pleasant. Good points - As so many others have said, the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to help (if I... More

Enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view from room overlooking the Voe (water) behind. Room quite old style, but very clean with all necessary comforts and good bed. Friendly staff. Very well looked after. Bar food menu was super. You won't leave hungry! Extremely extensive whisky menu to choose from. A good base to explore from - especially as a jumping off... More
